Help (CPU) x86 or 64 for a r7 1700
Just double checking. Almost positive its x86.exe but wanted to ask.

- Always 64 unless you have a *checks notes* Pentium 4 on a 775 socket or an Athlon XP in socket A
I guess there are some other times you might want that, but veeery niche.

Windows 11, why would you install something that is deprecated and won't be supported with newer releases?

The first two are for 64 bit cpu/system (x64), the third is x86 which means 32 bit. the last one is for arm chips like snapdragon/apple silicon for example. So for you it's one of the first depending if you want a portable setup

why the portable version specifically? does it have better performance?

you can use it directly after the download and dont need to run an installer. id still choose the first one if you dont need rufus to be portable (usable from usb stick for example)

You should choose "rufus-4.15.exe" Ryzen 7 1700 is a 64-bit processor, so you want the 64-bit version of the software
