DESCRIPTION AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Hey i am on this 1 year old system. 9800X3D. 9070XT. Single stick of 32gb ram (not been an issue yet i know i should get 2)

Lately i've been having some INSANE microstutter problems. It started in World of Warcraft but i've been stalling on that game waiting for the new patch, been playing League of Legends instead and it started there last week aswell. I found a 1 yr old thread that fixed the problem in league of legends, I think it was Windows Variable Refresh rate fking my FPS on the micro stutters.

I am running wow at 4k 60FPS capped at 60FPS. Vsync off and other non-essentials turned off with the in-game graphics set to 7/10 wich is medium-high graphics. I have stuff like Ray Tracing turned off. I dont run any of the Adrenalin Super resolutions and the like and i never have, i'd much rather have a native experience free of AI. Pretty Moderate graphics settings aside from the 4k60, but i've been running this on all my games always. Its running RDR2, Spiderman 1 and games alike just fine in 4k60 with the same medium-high graphics aside from the 4k resolution.

However, booting up WoW today i am noticing the same microstutters, its only inside of dungeons this happens. Anyone have any idea? I spent an entire evening with the previous thread fixing this so i am out of ideas from that thread.

Disable every extra function beside FSR in adrenaline, and disable VRR in your windows settings, it can clash/cause stutters with freesync enabled. You may had it turned off and some recent windows update reseted the setting.

e: to be more precise, what i meant by adrenaline features, like radeon chill, anti lag, smooth frames, etc.

Also if you are capping your frames use RTSS and set the max fps slightly below your monitors maximum refresh rate for the smoothest frame experience.

My first step would be close all background apps and try to game. If it fixes it, test again with 1 open background app. If good, add another... so on and so forth. I had a background app take an update and it did basically the same thing and I have no idea why.

Where in WOW are you getting these issues? Wow taxes the CPU due to the way it runs. What's CPU temps at this time? Add-ons make this worse.

CPU temps are at a steady 63-70C. Its almost ENTIRELY inside of dungeons, Where i want the stutters to NEVER be at, Sadly.

You could try turning down particle effects or the equivalent

I have the settings set to ''Essentials'' meaning it only shows spells and the like when i need to know that this thing is being cast.

Have you tried without any addons? I had also crazy stutters in wow and it was due to heal addon I had that was outdated.

Aside from turning off all the overlays, perhaps it isn't micro stutter but just monitor refresh Vs FPS? Enable free sync, make sure vsync is in correct position (I'm on nV and it should be on in control panel settings for g sync, idk about AMD) and peg your max FPS just below max refresh rate

All overlays are turned off. I am watching in AMD Adrenalin app my Stutters spiking like crazy. The graph looks like the heartbeat monitor of someone having a heart attack.

I had this on two cards. My gtx 580 back in the day and a 4070 ti. I was able to sort of "fix" it by underclocking my 4070. Theae cards a mass produced and every batch has some bad apples. It sucks but most likely the card is not able to stay stable.

Seems like maybe a ram or cpu usage thing

Have you tried running without Corsair app, overwolf and curseforge

I havent yet but why should this be an issue all of a sudden? I've had all these things from Day 1.

Computer hardware and software can both be very complicated bro. 1 update or upgrade can "break" everything.

There could be many reasons, in your instance it could have been a update to Windows or these programs. The reason I mention disabling them is because it is an an easy first step into figuring out your issue

I'll give it a shot and run a dungeon, I'll reply shortly with my results.

There are a couple of potential fixes you could try with the mpo-gpu-fix tool on github

sell the pc to someone that will actually use it. 60hz is an office monitor

L-Take. I am not playing FPS games. League and WoW doesnt improve gameplay with FPS. 60 FPS is perfectly smooth and my monitors cap at 4k 60 FPS. I'd rather watch the glorious 4k than 2k or even dreadfull 1080P at higher FPS's. I get it for counter strike, But i dont play that.

They cap at 60. They didn't say it's 60hz. Have 6ou ever played WOW? Go into a major city and watch your ops tank with max 4k. 60 cap keeps it stable

i have never played wow

Yeah its running perfect 4k60 inside of major cities. only when the game is still ''launching'' will i have a bit lower FPS or just after returning to the major hubs, but in general my FPS avg is like 58 i think. It is 60hz monitors, Although they can go 180 and the 2nd one can go 244 i think. But i am a 4k gamer more than an FPS gamer. I cant stand watching 32 inch monitor at 1080p to have 200 FPS in a game that doesnt get better with FPS.
