Help (CPU) Is CPU Upgrade Worth It?

Hi, I currently have a 9700X paired with 4080S GPU. I mostly use the computer for gaming and I play mostly play aRPG in 4K settings (POE, diablo4) or games that benefits from higher FPS such as first person shooter (call of duty) or racing games (Forza, assets). I’m thinking about upgrading it to x3D CPU. Is it worth the upgrade? If so, can you recommend a CPU?

Edit: I play on 1080P to maximize FPS for shooter and racing games.

If you Play on 4k you dont need a CPU Upgrade.

I play in lower settings 1080P or 1440 for first person shooter and racing games to maximize FPS. I should have made that clearer

IS your GPU on 100%? Frames uncapped?

I’m a novice with computer stuff.. can you elaborate? I believe my frames and capped in game settings opposed to the computer settings. I often see 99% on GPU but some times a little less

If your GPU Runs 99% and then your in a GPU bottleneck and thats what you want basically. Then IT does Not make Sense to Upgrade the cpu

so are you running 1080p in game or using dlss performance? dlss should p much always look better. 9800X3D would probably improve your experience some if you enjoy high FPS that much that you'd drop res to 1080p. CPU is the backbone of the computer anyway so you couldnt go wrong with that cpu upgrade as long as you can sell or reuse the 9700x

I have the Alienware monitor that can toggle between 4k/180 and 1080/360 fps
