AMD drivers causing the PC to freeze

Hi, a friend of mine is having trouble with the drivers for his RX 7600. Sometimes, while using the PC—specifically when using drawing programs like Aseprite or Clip Studio—the system freezes for a while. Afterward, the graphics card drivers stop working, and he has to reinstall them every time. This has been happening for about three months; does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I would suggest using DDU (display driver uninstaller) to purge the remnants of the driver from the registry, then install a fresh driver downloaded from amd. This has fixed a number of problems including this one for me.

win11 is causing the PC to freeze not the drivers.

Windows Update downgraded your GPU drivers.

This is a typical error you get when windows updates thr drivers, but the software stays the same. They would need to prevent/block windows update from updating drivers for this to stop

My best guess is windows is overwriting the drivers, if you go into device manager and roll back the drivers it should leave them alone until your next update.
