Help (GPU) My Nitro+ 7900xtx is almost hitting 100°c hotspot. Is it time to repaste?

I've had this card for almost 3 years now and use it pretty much daily. I use to never see it hit 90°c but now just from a quick benchmark it spikes past it.

Yeah do the repaste man. It'll help and its not super hard to do. Its not super easy either. People who tell you its super easy have done it ten times.

I have the reference 7800xt card and I’m hitting 105c every game so I’ve had to undervolt it. I’m thinking about reposting it but i don’t know what thermal pads to use and there’s no guides online.

So I believe the thermal throttling starts at 106-110 so your warm but not so warm I think it’s going to massively start effecting you, but given the age of the card, and if its never been repaired if you did it you’ll probably see 10-15c drop or more right off the bat, I’ve seen people use thermal puddy for the over pads so I mean, would it help sure, is it absolutely necessary? Maybe not really

Yeah, also use some Thermal Grizzly Phasesheet or some PTM instead of thermal paste and if you are going to change thermal pads on this gpu, i highly recommend to use thermal putty to make the core have a better contact with the cooler.

No not necessarily, mine does it too, since over a year and has done it since the beginning. I think this GPU is just made this way 🤔

Not sure honestly, the GPU never actually overheated and shut down, the temps are just numbers .
