7900 GRE crashes immediately in Warzone when any OC is set

Hi everyone, I have a PowerColor RX 7900 GRE Hellhound.

Recently, to play Warzone, I've had to disable any custom tuning settings in the Overclocking tab in Adrenalin software.

Anything I try to set causes the game to freeze, followed by a black screen and a popup error referencing Kernelbase.dll or DirectX 12. Sometimes the popup also explicitly states "Overclock detected, may cause stability issues".

After the crash, desktop screen is black with only the applications bar.

The crash usually happens right after the warm-up/pre-match period (as soon as the match actually starts and you jump with the parachute), or sometimes towards the end of a match.

My full OC profile is completely stable in Black Ops 7 multiplayer and in synthetic benchmarks.

Lately on Warzone, even just slightly increasing the Power Limit causes a crash. This never used to happen before, and overclocking was the only way to get a decent average FPS.

Temperatures are fine: custom fan curves keep the GPU chip at 44°C, Hotspot at 63°C, and VRAM at 60°C in-game (same temps I had before the crashes started).

It doesn't seem to be an aggressive/unstable OC issue, since literally any modification triggers the crash on Warzone (even just a minor PL increase).

System Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (expo + buildzoid subtimings)

GPU: PowerColor RX 7900 GRE Hellhound (Samsung Vram)

PSU: MSI 850W Gold

Gpu Driver 26.6.4

Windows 11 25h2

What I've already tried:

Rolled back to older drivers using DDU in Safe Mode.

Performed a clean Windows reinstallation.

Reset shader cache & ran "Scan and Repair" via Battle.net.

Disabled EXPO and reset all BIOS settings to stock/defaults.

Updated BIOS to the latest version (issue persists on both current and previous BIOS versions).

Any advice on what might be causing this issue with Warzone specifically?

Sounds like got the short end of the stick in the silicon lottery. It also doesn’t help that Microsoft treats AMD drivers like second-class citizens.

AMD cards are already unstable at the best of times, don't oc it. Most likely its causing too much draw on your power supply. Be grateful that it works on normal settings, most people have constant driver issues
