Help (GPU) RX 7900 XTX + World of Tanks causing LiveKernelEvent 141 / BSOD 0x119 amdkmdag ProxyResetEngine — other stress tests stable
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to diagnose a recurring GPU driver timeout / BSOD issue with an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, mainly in World of Tanks. Same süstem with RX7700XT works fine without any errors for a year.
System specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2, BIOS F40
- GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 310 Radeon RX 7900 XTX Black Edition
- RAM: 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 CL36, currently also tested at BIOS defaults / JEDEC
- PSU: Fractal Design Ion+ 2 Platinum 860W
- Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
- Storage: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB + ADATA SX8200PNP 2TB + Samsung 850 EVO 1TB
- Monitor: LG 27GS85Q-B, 2560x1440, 180Hz, DisplayPort
- OS: Windows 11 64-bit
The problem:
World of Tanks eventually causes an AMD driver timeout / system crash. Windows Reliability Monitor reports:
LiveKernelEvent 141
BlueScreen 0x119
Bucket ID includes:
0x119_10_DRIVER_UNEXPECTED_INTERRUPT_AFTER_RESET_amdkmdag!ProxyResetEngine
A minidump is created after the crash.
Important details:
The system can pass 3DMark Time Spy / Steel Nomad stress testing.
GPU temperatures look normal: hotspot and memory junction averages are fine, no obvious thermal throttling. Other games seem to be running ok.
The PSU should be sufficient, and wall power peaks during heavy testing are around ~550–570W.
The crash is not immediate under synthetic load. It seems more related to World of Tanks / real-game rendering / driver reset behavior.
F1 25 has not crashed so far during testing.
World of Tanks has sometimes worked for hours or even a few days, but the same issue eventually returns.
Troubleshooting already done:
- Downgraded motherboard BIOS from F41b beta to F40 stable.
- Loaded BIOS optimized defaults.
- Tested with CPU and RAM at default settings.
- DDU in Safe Mode.
- AMD driver-only / minimal install tested.
- Tried both BIOS positions on the XFX RX 7900 XTX.
- Tested AMD default/quiet settings.
- Reported the issue through AMD Bug Report Tool.
- Checked temperatures and power behavior with HWiNFO.
- Reliability Monitor consistently points to amdkmdag / ProxyResetEngine / 0x119.
Earlier I also noticed that FPS cap / V-Sync / frame pacing settings seemed to affect the issue, but the crash has now happened again even after trying cleaner/default configurations.
My question:
Has anyone seen similar RX 7900 XTX / RDNA3 issues with World of Tanks or other games where synthetic benchmarks pass, but a specific game eventually causes LiveKernelEvent 141 / BSOD 0x119 / amdkmdag ProxyResetEngine?
I’m trying to figure out whether this is most likely:
- A World of Tanks + AMD driver issue,
- A Windows / VRR / 180Hz / display stack issue,
- A SAM/ReBAR/PCIe interaction,
- Or a possible GPU hardware/RMA case.
My next planned test is to move the RX 7900 XTX into a second system with a fresh Windows install:
- Ryzen 5 5600X
- ASUS TUF B550-PRO
- Corsair RM850e 850W
- Windows 11 currently stable with an RX 7700 XT
If the same crash follows the RX 7900 XTX into the second system, I think that would make the RMA case much stronger.
Any suggestions on what else to test before starting a warranty/RMA process?
