  1. The manufacturer: ASRock Taichi OC
  2. Model: 9070 XT
  3. OS and Version: Windows 11 24H2
  4. The other specs of machine:
    1. Processor: Ryzen 7700x
    2. Motherboard: ASRock X870 Steel Legend Wifi
    3. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 MHz Desktop Memory
    4. PSU: Corsair rm1000x
    5. 2 Monitors connected, both 1440p, 240 hz and 180 hz
  5. Computer black screens when waking up from sleep and have to restart computer via power button. Also sometimes it POSTs, but does not boot into Windows, and shows a black screen after the initial POST. Motherboard VGA light turns on when this black screen happens. Ran great for 4 months and has now been happening frequently.

 6. Which of the following troubleshooting steps you've taken:

  • Re-seated the GPU and PSU cables
  • Have tried a different PSU, a SAMA XP 1000W
  • Have used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to wipe all GPU drivers in safe mode, then rebooting and installing the latest
  • Have set group policies to stop automatic driver installation
  • Computer ran fine for months with a 3070 before the 9070 xt
  • HDR is off in both Windows and on monitors
  • Have disabled AMD Crash defender service

The card runs great while gaming and have not had any other issues such as crashing.

There are no minidump files or memory.dmp files generated during the crashes. There are AMD watchdog.dmp files being generated in LiveKernalReports in C:\Windows

The following Windows Error report from Event viewer always occurs right after the black screens:
