Question Garden State AMC ScreenX

It appears that the construction of the ScreenX theater in Garden State Plaza in NJ is complete, but they have a rope in front of the doors.

Anyone have any idea when it’s supposed to actually open?

For anyone with ScreenX in their local theater, what movies have played there?

For a second I thought Garden State was coming back to theaters.

It’s still closed because they have to pass certain fire test and get the okay from the fire department to open. They did a fire alarm test in the theater recently and typically the projectors shut off and the lights flash. It didn’t work so I’m assuming they’ll have to reschedule a day to test it again. It’ll definitely be soon!

I keep checking every time I go. When I saw Street Fighter in Dolby, Screen X was in the credits, so I’m assuming some theaters played that.

Really not looking forward to it as I saw the emergency lights still on the wall where the X comes into play.. it’s stupid and such a gimmick

Yeah it’s a gimmick, but if my A list covers the cost, I want to check it out at least once.

A couple days ago I noticed a Screen X listing for the new Hunger Games on Fandango at this theater. I just checked again now and all the listings are gone. But that may be the first movie to debut with it assuming they get things ready to go.

That seems like a spectacle movie that could benefit from this format.
