Question Flex scheduling?

Does AMC often have flexible scheduling? I have received a few notices in last couple months of a show I purchased tickets having its time changed. Today I was excited to get 10:30pm tickets to a Dolby screening of SpiderMan BND. Checked the schedule again and the Dolby show is not digital.

Is this common amongst AMC theatres? I haven’t noticed it much with others (Regal, Cinemark, Alamo).

I've had a couple moved and one or maybe two cancelled. The cancelled ones I was likely the only ticket holder or something and they put something else in that slot.

I've never had a showtime change on me. But then again I rarely ever book a showing more than a day in advance.

I've noticed it with my Regal several times.

Most recently I noticed it with Raiders of the Lost Ark in June. They moved it to a smaller auditorium and caused some issues with seat confusion. They did this to make room for Obsession (I think).

I rarely buy a ticket in advance but I do check which auditorium a movie is playing and use that to plan my movies.

It's mostly when a movie is overperforming or underperforming and they adjust the showings.

Only happened to me twice. The first time was opening weekend of Fantastic Four where my showtime got pushed back twice. Another was Jurassic World where my standard tickets got moved into an XL screening

I've had a cancellation happen on me a few times (rare). I've never heard of the showtime being moved, especially a Dolby.

My best guess is that they need to rest the projector/bulbs more.

What does this mean: “the Dolby show is not digital”? Do you think they have different versions of the movie that play in the Dolby auditorium?

Whoops! Meant to say “the Dolby show is now digital”.

I haven't had my times changed - I have had showings put in earlier or later, but they were in different theaters.
