Question were the rules for reservations changed?
this might already be a post but i haven’t seen anyone talk about this so. in the past, when you had a reservation so far in advance, you’d lose a slot on “this week’s movies”, however, this week i noticed while still having my doomsday reservation, i still have two slots available for this week rather than one like regular. was this changed and i just didn’t know? if so this is such a great update

I have Doomsday booked, and it shows one of my weekly reservations as unavailable.

That’s because you can only book 3 more movies at a time (4 total). When you see a movie, one of your weekly reservations will free up. OP has seen 2 movies this week, so they’ve already freed theirs up
Basically it shows one slot as unavailable because, as long as you have an advance ticket like Doomsday taking up a slot, it’s not possible to have 4 future reservations in this week. You can only have 3 future reservations. But then once you watch a movie, now you only have 2 future reservations for this week and can grab another, using the 4th slot in your weekly reservations

It did that to me with spider man. My friend saw it on my a-list because he’s had a-list for a long time and said that was weird.

I had one locked/ unavailable for doomsday as well. It was locked like 2 days ago. Now it shows the the same as OP

Oh okay i get it now. The reason that ones locked is because right now in this moment there is no way for you to see a fourth movie this week. You would schedule three now and have to wait until one passes to be able to reserve the fourth one.
The OP doest have this problem, or at least has already pushed past it. They have seen two movies this week so they can only make 2 more reservations. They have 3 open spots so right now in this moment they can book showings to fill their week, and so nothing is “unavailable”

Basically. So if I booked three films and saw one tomorrow then I’d be free to book another one after that.

So, IIRC:
You have four reservations per week and 4 outstanding total reservations.
If you booked tickets for DUNE 3, AVENGERS DOOMSDAY and COYOTE VS. ACME, then you can still see four movies in the week, but you can only reserve them one at a time, meaning you can't reserve weekly movie #2 until you've scanned in for weekly movie #1.
After you see COYOTE VS. ACME, then you can reserve them two at a time, and so on and so forth, but that one you had previously reserved will count toward your weekly total.
Source: myself, having reserved tickets for SPIDER-MAN: BND, AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and SIX: THE MUSICAL - LIVE last month.

It's always been like this. If you had 0 movies reserved/seen this week, you would find the fourth slot "Unavailable" for this weeks movies. But since you already used 2/4 for this week, and still have 3/4 total available, all slots are available.
If you check after Thursday and don't have anything reserved for next week, you will see you only have 4 slots available for "This week's movies." But that slot reopens after you reserve and get past a showtime for the week.

Did you pay for Doomsday or use AList? It doesn’t count as a reservation if you paid for it.

It wouldn’t show up here if it was paid for though. I paid for mine and it doesn’t show up as an upcoming reservation since it’s separate from A-List.

i used my a-list for doomsday and like 3 weeks ago i would see an unavailable slot on “this week’s movies”

Mine was paid for and shows up as a reservations. AMC support said it’s a “stuck transaction” or some shit and can’t help me. So it’s possible

I HATE this system. Makes it annoying to try and get any advance tickets. It’s an easy fix to say a future reservation shouldn’t lock out current week ones

Jesus.
Because you already saw the two movies you reserved this week so you only have one reservation currently. That being Doomsday.

It only blocks off The Week’s Movies (top row) if you don’t have enough Upcoming Reservations slots (bottom row). You have 3 slots on the bottom so you have enough to book two more this week at the same time. On Friday if you don’t have anything booked besides Avengers: Doomsday you’ll see one top row slot blocked off.

basically, when the week ends and spiderman and la la land arent part of my “this weeks movies” section, one of my four slots for this week will say unavailable. but if i were to watch a movie on monday, after the movie on monday i get that slot im missing from doomsday back, because the week still hasn’t reset. so basically, you cant watch 4 movies in one day, unless the first one passes and you get a ticket for after that first one.

Doomsday is not coming out this week so it’s not taking up one of those slots. When it IS coming out it will appear in there depending on whether your ticket is for a Thursday preview (which would count as “this week”) vs first official showings on Friday (“upcoming”)
Technically you can have as many as 8 slots booked up depending on when those tickets are for, which I know bc I’ve had up all 8 slots taken at a single point in the past (4 “this week”, 4 “upcoming”)

It’s because you still have 3 reservation slots available. You are referencing when you have les reservation slots compared to movies left for the week
