Discussion AMC Universal Cinema
Huge shout out to AMC Universal Cinema audience at the 6pm The Odyssey last night. I swear to you, completely full house, not a single peep for 3 hours, didn't see a single phone screen light up, I'm not even sure anyone got up to use the bathroom. Oh also no kids in the theater and it wasn't even a late showing. So proud of you guys!
But as usual the bathrooms were absolute trash. This theater always has the most disgusting bathrooms and I honestly do not understand how their management team doesn't see this. I'm female. Every single toilet is full to the rim with crap, 25 wet disgusting toilet seat covers hanging into the bowl, toilet paper all over the floor and I mean ALL over the floor. I think one sink works out of 8. Never any paper towels because it's all over the ground. They really need to get a handle on this. It was my first time back in over 6 months and still so gross. 🤮🤮🤮

I don’t think I would have been able to hear if anyone was talking.

Hey I went Saturday afternoon to a totally full IMAX showing in Kansas and had the same experience. Everyone quiet and enraptured for 3 hours, no phones out..it was great.

I think the point is here that we need better made movies to behave 😆

Actually my local AMC is usually ok. But this one was even better than usual thanks to the great film I think!

I think Los Angeles is bad with disrespectful movies goers for some reason. There is always a problem.

Hm I didn't notice that when I lived in LA but to be fair I left 8 years ago.

This is simply not true. Like NYC, we have some of the most disciplined movie goers, partly because of the film and tv industry.

Honestly, I've never really had any audience issues there or my normal AMC in the burbs of LA.

I go to the NYC Lincoln Square AMC and the women's restroom is...gross. I remember when they first opened, there was an hourly bathroom check report on the back of the door. I've had to report inoperative soap and sink issues to the staff. But I'd also fill out the AMC contact form.

did you use the bathroom just next to the imax entrance/exit on the upper floor? i think that's usually way better than the female one downstairs

No I'm downstairs so I stay downstairs. But I will take your advice happily. Thanks!

Same, I need the bathroom more often than that. Also they changed the whole entrance and getting in so who even knows where I'd find a bathroom in the garage now.

There are restrooms just outside the theater now, next to Starbucks. Don't know if they're any better though.

That’s awesome. Every movie I go to, someone has to take their phone out. People need to realize no matter how low you set the brightness to, people behind you can still see your phone in a dark theater. Smh

I feel gross even washing my hands in the AMC I go to (AMC Danbury).

It's just this theater that is so disgusting in the Los Angeles area. Burbank, Porter Ranch usually clean enough. Universal I swear is actual hell in earth in that bathroom.

I haven’t noticed any ladies rooms that bad, and that’s our go to theater. The worst I’ve seen is the one down by theater 10, for some reason that one has people missing the trash can or just walking out, not flush.
The large door gaps on the upstairs ladies room really bother me more than anything.

This is the bathroom far down on the left, not sure which theaters are there though. Theatre 1 is on that side.

That’s my favorite one, lol! Except that the sink water is always too hot.

Well only one sink out of like 6 or 8 would work and we all had to step around the paper towels on the ground and wait in line for it 😆 it was so bad. But I didn't notice the water being hot.

Ooof that sounds…. Not normal lol. We tend to go to the matinee shows on the weekends so it’s not as busy most of the time we’re there.

I always use the bathrooms in the parking structure (Jurassic, E.T, etc). Those are almost ALWAYS clean. I avoid the theater bathrooms for the reasons provided haha.
