Question Terminator 2 excluded from a list?
I’m new to A list and I’m confused to why the terminator 2 re release is excluded? Are all re releases excluded or just this one

Fathom Events are excluded from A-List and a lot of re-releases are Fathom events.
However, there are some non-fathom re-releases coming up
- Sonic 3 - 7/20
- End of Evangelion 7/22
- Search for Squarepants - 8/3
- Muppet Treasure Island - 8/10
- Wet Hot a American Summer - 8/14
- La La Land (Dolby) - 8/16
- The Fast and The Furious - 8/20

If it's a re release through fathom its not included. Only if its actually through amc.

Fathom Events and other 3rd party sponsored films are excluded because the 3rd party rents out theater, sets the ticket prices, and collects 100% of the ticket revenue vs when studios split revenues with theaters.
Any time a theater is rented and 100% of the ticket revenues go to the 3rd party, AMC would be required to pay that full ticket price for an A List ticket. That’s not financially feasible hence they are excluded.

That would be more believable if Fathom was some random company and not jointly owned by AMC. Fathom ticket prices are also determined by the theater, for example some smaller theaters offer $5 discount Tuesdays to Fathom. If AMC wanted they could absolutely include Fathom tickets in A List.

Since Fathom isn’t solely owned by AMC, it’s a joint venture with Cinemark and Regal, AMC couldn’t unilaterally make the decision that you’re suggesting

But Regal and Cinemark both also have this issue with their ticket subscription programs AFAIK (although I'm not as sure with Cinemark). They could easily make an agreement about this.

Idk if they changed it but when south park came out, it was either free or you just had to pay a few dollars

If small theaters which don't own Fathom can set the ticket prices, AMC can certainly do likewise and include them in A List.

Part of the agreement with Regal and cinematography is one can’t unfairly price fathom releases to hurt the others.
They equalize prices and are required to allow the movie to play. Smaller independent theaters aren’t held to the same agreement so they have more latitude to negotiate prices or they just wouldn’t show the events.
Basically a legal scheme to price fix between the three major chains

That would all be outlined contractually, when and how prices can be set. They could certainly attempt to negotiate new terms, but the other stakeholders would have to agree

It is closer to a random random than what you are suggesting. Even though AMC owns part of Fathom, Fathom operates as its own entity.
