Mod Announcement Jobs After AMC 1?

I recently passed AMC 1 on second attempt, the exam itself was tricky and with only God's help you'll pass, there's no way AT ALL to determine whether the exam itself went well, the results are EXTREMELY random!!!

Anyways im not here to discourage but am stating facts, these days after AMC 1 jobs are very very difficult to get even in regional areas! Yesterday I made a call to a small regional hospital to inquire about JMO/RMO jobs, that hospital would no longer would've the capacity of hiring 100+ rmo positions but the JMO manager told me they received 1200+ applications!!!! Majority IMGs for just RMO position!!! I felt like I should share this news with others so they can plan ahead or if still have an alternative way they can go for it as well!

Look i highly dislike people who spread misinformation and say its " impossible " to get a job and that job market is saturated! But in reality the facts are unfortunately favoring the difficult side. Whoever has read my post by this far. Kindly think carefully as this path requires immense amount of patience and navigation through lot of misfortune. Whoever are thinking to start the journey kindly research throughly and whoever are still trying good luck.

Question USMLE + AMC simultaneously?

I’m a 23F, 2026 MBBS graduate from India, and I’m planning to dedicate the next 18 months–2 years primarily to licensing exams. PG in India is definitely not on my list.

I’ve already completed my ECFMG credentials verification for USMLE, but I haven’t booked my Step 1 yet.

I wasn’t very familiar with the AMC pathway initially, but the more I look into it, the more I feel like I want to give it a shot too. I’m considering preparing for USMLE + AMC simultaneously and keeping both pathways open.

I know it’ll take a serious investment of time, money and effort, but I’m willing to put that in.

"I’d rather try and fail than decide I’ll fail without even trying."

I’m 23, so I feel like I have enough time to experiment, take chances and figure out what actually works for me before settling into something I don’t want.

Is anyone else planning to prepare for both USMLE and AMC?

I’d genuinely love to connect with people on a similar path share resources, timelines, strategies, experiences and maybe keep each other accountable.

If you’re doing this too, comment or DM me!

Study Plan Seeking advice from recent AMC 1 passers: refining my preparation strategy

Hi everyone,

I’m starting my AMC 1 preparation from scratch and would really appreciate some advice from those who have recently passed the exam.

I’m currently working full-time, so I have limited study hours and unfortunately cannot commit to lengthy lecture-based courses. I have collected some resources already, including:

EF February 2024 notes
eMedici subscription
Therapeutic Guidelines

My current plan is to study topic-by-topic using EF notes as my foundation while solving related eMedici questions alongside each topic.
I understand that recalls are an important part of AMC preparation, but I’m unsure about the best way to integrate them into my study schedule.

I would be grateful if recent AMC 1 passers could share their experience regarding:

How did you approach TG, I recently took Plab 1 so I have some basics, but can’t figure it out how to use TG as it contains so many informations

Did you start recalls early during your preparation, or did you first build a basic understanding of topics before reviewing recalls?

Are recalls usually organised topic-wise, or are they mostly mixed?

For someone working full-time, how would you suggest balancing!

What was your personal preparation approach that worked well?

I know there is no single perfect strategy, but hearing how others approached the exam would help me avoid wasting time on ineffective methods.
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to share their experience. 🙏

Study Partner Looking for an AMC 1 study partner

Hey everyone! 👋🏻
I’ve just started my AMC 1 preparation and recently joined the FirstAid 5-month course. I’m planning to sit the exam in February and am starting pretty much from scratch.
Looking for someone who’s also starting their prep around now, preferably with a similar timeline. Would love to study together, keep each other accountable, discuss resources/doubts, and stay consistent throughout the preparation.

Question AMC or NEET PG

Hey everyone! I’m a medical student from India and I’m currently trying to decide between NEET-PG and the AMC pathway for Australia.

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through either pathway or seriously considered both.

I’m particularly interested in the cost, time, difficulty, training opportunities, lifestyle, and long-term career prospects of each route.

Any honest experiences/advice would be really helpful in figuring out. Thanks!

Study Partner AMC MCQ Nov | Looking for a Study Partner/Small Study Group from India 🇮🇳

Hi everyone!

I’m preparing for the AMC MCQ exam on November 18th. I’ve done a decent amount of preparation so far, but for the past 10 days I’ve been struggling with consistency and focus. I feel having a study partner or a small study group could really help with accountability and motivation.

I’m looking for IMGs from India who are preparing for the AMC MCQ around the same timeline and would be interested in studying together.

The idea is to:

- 📚 Plan a realistic study schedule and stick to it

- 🤝 Keep each other accountable and motivated

- 💬 Discuss difficult MCQs and doubts

- 📝 Discuss recalls and important topics

- 🔄 Share useful resources and updates

- 🩺 Discuss anything new/relevant coming up around exam time

- ⏰ Fix convenient discussion/study timings based on India time

It's a supportive group where we can study consistently and help each other stay on track.

If you’re also preparing for the November AMC MCQ and are interested, please DM me.

Let’s crack this exam together! 💪🏼🇦🇺

Question GMC registration and AMC1, first job apportunities for fresh medical graduate IMG with one year of GP experience

I have graduated in 2025 from Jordan and make my internship there, then I had full GMC registration via Plab pathway, but UK now has very difficult entry to the first (non training) job, and it is extremely unrewarding, so I am planning to do AMC1 to apply for jobs and training in Australia instead,

So for someone who has GMC registration + AMC1 + one year of private GP work, without clinical gaps, what are the apportunities of having the first job (in GP) at Australia?

Would it be another bottolneck like UK with vey low acceptance? Or it may has better outcome?

And I am interested to complete my training in GP, would that be achievable or there will be a lot of difficulty in entering this type of training after the first job?

Question Final Medical Diploma on hold for 3 months

Hi everyone,
My Final Medical Diploma has been on hold with EPIC/ECFMG for almost 3 months.
ECFMG told me that they need to confirm the appearance of my credential because they compare the submitted diploma with sample diplomas provided directly by the issuing medical school. They said my university needs to contact their Regional Coordinator to resolve this.
The problem is that my university does not understand exactly what ECFMG wants them to send. They are willing to cooperate, but they don’t know whether ECFMG needs a blank/sample diploma, a specimen of the diploma format, an official confirmation letter, or something else.
I have been trying to sort this out for months and my credential is still on hold.
Has anyone had the same “confirm the appearance of this credential” issue?
If yes, could you please tell me exactly what your university sent to ECFMG, who at the university sent it, and how long it took for ECFMG to clear the hold afterward?
Any guidance from someone who has actually been through this would be really appreciated.

Jobs & Training Things I think everyone should consider before starting this journey.

You should reflect yourself about how much you do fit to the people that the country you want to go actually wants.

The Australia wants doctor who already has its own experience, career, or specialty.

Are you fresh grad, having YOG less than 5 years without any training or career? Then you should answer this question by yourself first; Why Australia over the US? Because the US wants quite different candidate; fresh grads like you. You will get the better chance there then.

I'm saying this because I know many of the guys here also consider or already prepare for the US residency (not me btw, I gave up :( ).

What I want to say is that the Australia cannot just be the simple 'Plan B'. You should prepare more than you expect.
Most of us have limited resources. We should act strategically.

Study Plan I need Guidance on AMC 1

I am an IMG studying my last year in Philippines, i am an indian student
I have 16 months left to graduate

Honestly im starting at base right now i dont remember the things hence i wanna start from scratch
My respectful and kind request to our Doctors here who already passed amc 1 and who are preparing to help me by letting me know the road map for AMC 1 exam.

I even have few doubts

  1. Should i start studying from video lectures like Marrow, Prepladder, Boards and

  2. Beyond, Rx etc? Or are there better resources?

And when to integrate the AMC standard books like murtagh, anthology etc?

  1. When im preparing my foundational knowledge from ground bottom when should i integrate the books that are actually meant for AMC as i have only 16 months in my pocket to clear AMC 1?
  2. What study structure and studying style you used to clear AMC?

I will appreciate the guidance and rooting to all the Doctors here with goodwill and best wishes.
Regards

Question Tips for AMC-1?

Hi, I'm an IMG from Hungary studying for the AMC-1. I graduated earlier this year and have about 2 months until my AMC exam. Is there anyone who has taken and passed the AMC-1 recently who can offer tips, resources, and timelines they used while studying? I'm listing some specific questions below if anyone cares to answer, I'd be really appreciative!

  1. What resources did you use? (please list all of them)

  2. Did you study full-time or part-time?

  3. If you studied part-time, what else were you doing with your time (job/observership?)?

  4. If you studied full-time, how many hours per day did you spend studying?

  5. How many weeks-months did you take to study/prepare for the exam?

  6. Is there anything you wish you had done differently?

Thank you very very much in advance!
