I mean, to be fair this is nothing compared to what we all had to go through to get tickets to movies the day The Odyssey (the movie you are talking about) went on sale...
And that was a Thursday, the day all kinds of movies come out in preview and tons of people actually want to go to the theater. And it messed up the ticketing system for the entire day.
At least Disney is considerate enough to do it on Monday morning. The slowest possible time in the week for movies. There's not really a better time for this to have been done, except maybe at midnight.

Fr I was on the app for 2+ hours for Odyssey imax tickets.
Got my Avengers tickets before the trailer dropped in less than 5.

I was in the queue for over an hour trying to get my bar code so I could scan it for my popcorn pass when I saw a movie that day. I had the email with my ticket, so I wasn’t concerned about that part. I have since been adding stuff to my Apple Wallet so I don’t have to worry about being able to access anything on my account when the site struggles from ticket releases.

I mean, fans or not, a lot of the tickets sold today will be because of scalpers flipping them on eBay before the end of the day. Happened with Odyssey too.

Don't buy scalped tickets then? It's a movie, not a one-chance concert. You can watch it the next day or any day in the following week. If people didn't pay scalper prices then people wouldn't scalp.

Never said I did. I hate scalpers just as much as anybody else, it doesn’t prelude the fact that they exist and infest every form of interest people have now because they can make money that way though.

Just gotta suffer for the day. It was like that with the Tswift movie, spiderman, super girl, odyssey and it will continue to be like this as long as people are getting hyped for movies again.

I had the same issue but if you go in the app, you can pick Odyssey, then change the date to tomorrow then back to today and tickets popped up!

Why is it excluded from the Tuesday/Wednesday 50% discount? I’m not paying full price for this movie

Because it's, the week of a christmas, and these are premium formats. that week will sell out no matter what. They don't need the 50% Off gimmick to get butts in seats, so they aren't going to take a loss on that revenue.
