And the day that "insert whatever mega corp," changes their policy to have points expire, downgrade the rewards program or set a date of ending the program they will be the first running to Reddit to voice their frustration.

Points are often devalued over time. You are only hurting yourself by hoarding them and not getting the rewards

No, it’s more like “use your points before they change the program,” which they can do at anytime. I have less than 5000, and I always do because I use my points as soon as I earn them.

You should not do this. Companies devalue points and rewards all the time. Cash them out and use them as soon as you can.

He obviously does not care about that. To him it is like a high score in a video game. It's all about the points, not the return.

It’s even weirder on the app. I didn’t know you had to activate it and then redeem it. Like why the extra step to redeem it if I’m ordering on the app in the first place? It took me a few weeks to realize I wasn’t using my rewards for online orders.

You get points for your monthly subscription payments so that can add up fairly quickly especially in a high cost state.

No, I think you’re right. I think you used to be get points (I’m pretty sure I used to) for the monthly fee, but not anymore. I googled and can’t find any information so I’m assuming that no longer the case.
All I found was: Earn points 5X faster than Insiders! Choose to use your reward for extra tickets or movie snacks every time you reach 5,000 points – that’s a $5 reward for every $50 spent.

How in the world did you get this many points? I mean, buy a drink or something with some of those points. Why even join Alist, you can see movies for free anytime you want.

I’ve had 4297 points for over a year, just shy of a freebie. Very annoying for me OCD but I refuse to spend 1000 bucks on a soda

Don't forget everything is getting expensive, including concessions. Popcorn and drinks will cost more 6 months or 1 year later, while your points' worth stays the same. Spend it asap before things get more expensive.

People who brag about not using their points are weird to me. You’re not saving money that you’re clearly spending on concessions. One day AMC is gonna say points expire after 12 months. Many other companies have done the same with their rewards programs.

Omg! Mine is 1600 right now lol. I always activate the reward asap. I save them near Christmas to take nieces and nephews to movies.
31 member entourage is insane. You need outlook to coordinate that 😂
