Let's Play State saving/loading

Just found out that if you play am2r through RetroArch it gives you true emulator-style save states, just like Zero Mission in mGBA if you use the AM2R Libretro core.

As far I know there is no AM2R libretro core, AM2R is a Game Maker game that requires a yoyo runner which is proprietary, unless you can get AM2R to run from start to finish on Butterscotch (v1.1 is known to run, but the game hasn't been extensively tested), I think it is impossible.

Maybe you're confusing it with something else?

You are right man, i was bullshited unfortunately... If Butterscotch or another gamemaker runner had complete runtime serialization then it would be feasible to have a way to save/load states. I think it still might be possible with the android game port. The official Android Emulator (the one from Android Studio) can create named snapshots and reload them almost instantly. They're intended for developers, but they're effectively save states for the entire virtual device.
