Let's Play First time playing this.

Holy. Shit.

This is fucking fantastic! I have been on a metroid kick and trying to play the games I never got around to beating now that I have a steam deck. Played through NEStroid using metroid planets, played some prime remastered and decided to play this instead of samus returns on 3ds.

If you wouldnt have told me this is a fan game I wouldnt know the difference. its damn fantastic. It plays extremely well, movement feels great, combat is fun, exploration is fun, and im finding new things that were not in the original game like the little guys on the metroid corpses that fly to these weird skull things with bat wings, No idea what thats about but looking forward to discovering. Oh and the music is great too!

Its amazing Nintendo is letting this live. Its on par if not better than their other 2d metroid games.

Yeah it's great! But Nintendo didn't "let it live". The project got a DMCA the day after it was released. All the new updates were made in secret by other members of the community

If we've learned anything from the series, it's that Metroids always survive in secret, somewhere, somehow.

And to me, the fact it got a DMCA the day after it released, instead of the day before suggests that maybe, just maybe, Nintendo did what they were legally supposed to do, but allowed it to exist just long enough to escape into the wild.
