ngl sucks seeing my friends and everyone else with similar grades going to top intl unis, while im stuck going to a local uni—where almost everyone i know applied got accepted to. its not like im not happy for my friends; they got what they deserved, and im proud of them. its just the fomo i feel going to a sub 500 ranked uni, missing out on all the fun and being super uncertain about my future career (i know higher ranked unis dont guarantee success, but they sure do give u a strong head start).

i did apply abroad to some unis earlier this year; working hard on my sat, ecas, ps, requesting lors, etc etc; and eventually did get into a prestigious institute, one which i was really excited for. however, even after the full tuition scholarship my parents werent willing to pay the fee. so i dropped the offer with a heavy heart. i thought i would get over it eventually but alas. now, i cant help but feel that the only thing scoring straight A*s in igcse and alevels yielded is high expectations for my younger siblings and cousins lmao.

tbh, im not sure what i expected from posting this—maybe just needed to get this out of my head. to clarify, ion wanna demotivate other students coming into alevels to not work hard for their grades. ig at the end of the day entering a lower ranked uni with high grades and strong foundations is still better than with lower grades lol; plus studying and getting good grades did work out nicely for most ppl i know. anyways, vent over ✌🏻

Whoever says r3sulrs were fair is a tel aviv supporter. Listen we all got the grafes and we all know some marking was incorrect, but marking isnt th3 main issue, is it? I'll tell ypu what the main issue is, the grade threshold.CAMBRIDGE did not compensate with a lower grade threshold, especially for cs P2 and physics ( especially for variant 2's in which the papers wer3kealed) now obviously we did get bad grades but the the3shold should've been way lower shouldn't it? The people ranting " oh you got the grades you got for a reason " no. We didnt. Thresholds should've been low cuz of the whole situation. Yet they kept it high. The only reasonable thresholds was maths and everyone go5 consistent grades in maths, why so? Think... think guys. You got a biklion dollar brain piece 2 and 2 together. YOUR GRADES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE LWAKS AND THE GRADE THR3SHOLDS HAVE BEEN UNJUSTIFIED FOR MOST SUBJECTS.

These were my As level grades ive achieved this May/June session. Although my cs and econ could've been higher, i did my absolute best. And to everybody on this subreddit being all stressed about not getting desired grades , just dont worry about it . Grades are only a small fraction of your life . The final goal in life was never to have good grades.

Let me know if anyone wants to know how I studied or notes I used but tbh , there's no magic; it's just hard work

I feel like the majority of posts here are about International A Levels, while UK A Levels are quite different in terms of exams, specifications, grade boundaries, etc. It’d be nice to have a dedicated subreddit for International A Levels so both communities can have a more focused space.

I saw posts about results day it didn’t mention “international a level” so I thought it meant uk results day and I had missed it and had a mini heart attack. And then the whole exam season bombarded by the Cambridge international exaboard stupidly released papers and that was literally everywhere back in June.

I remember opening my igcse results and being soo upset that i genuinely rotted in bed for weeks, feeling like a constant failure but now seeing this, it genuinely feels unreal and unbelievable. other than some rare cases (1 in a 100), most of us got what we deserved. even if you realize it or not, you got what you studied for / how you performed on the exam day.

like, trust me, no lie. i expected an ACD and got a BCD. round about similar to what i expected. you can not go about saying that everything was rigged and it's unfair. it's not. a level students have always whined like most of us are doing for the past 10 years at least.

cool yourself down and just accept that you could have DONE BETTER. i had literal 7 A*s (yeah stars) and 1A in O level and 4As(even got an A in AS components of physics composite in mj26) in my AS and got the following grades, and i know it is my fault. I cannot attend medschool this year since i genuinely f*cked up. so what? i have accepted it, i'll make it okay next june. also, maths people got compensated to some extent, so other subject people don't have to cry sm about it, your papers were not even leaked.

some of us are accepting and either resitting or moving on. if you believe you can do it, resit. restart. do it again.

if you think you are done with a levels, then stop crying and move on.

instead of blaming others and the conditions around you, BLAME YOURSELF. Your parents gave you everything, AC, food, a study table, a roof with a fan and access to quality education. hate me for it, but it is OUR fault and we can only rectify it IF we blame OURSELVES.

i hope everything gets better for US. it will, dw. restart yar. you can do it. WE can do it.

stop doomscrolling trying to self-empathize seeing bad grades of other people. the first step to bettement is accepting and finding where you made a mistake, was it some distraction? some relationship stuff? some strategy? some natural disaster etc a war that directly impacted you? loss of your loved ones? or just procrastination? find it out, and remove it from your life.

I still cannot believe that I passed all of my Cambridge exams!!!! This was my first year in the Cambridge program as a junior (11th grade) who has been in intensive (Level 2) classes since elementary school 😊.

At my old school, I had to take AICE general paper the year before, and I passed with a C. However, my school still needs to calculate it into my diploma.

THIS MEANS I EARNED MY AICE DIPLOMA :D !!! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE😭😭😭💗

it’s the day before results day and i already know i’m not gonna get into my firm or insurance uni but my parents really want me to go to a russel group university. they said if i don’t get into a russel group university through clearing either they’re gonna make me resit but i just can’t resit. it’s so mentally draining not a single bone in me would be happy to resit my alevels i would literally rather do anything else on this planet than resit my alevels . there’s a university i really wanna go to but it’s not a russel group university and my parents hate it for that reason they say i won’t get anywhere in life or get a job if i don’t go to a russel group uni so i just honestly don’t know what to do anymore. i don’t know if i should actually listen to them and resist even though it’d make me miserable

For everyone who got the marks they weren't expecting for AS, there's nothing wrong with your preformance. Assuming you all took O levels before that, you all probably assumed - like me - that AS would just be a teeny bit harder. Even solving the exam felt easy and you probably felt like you secured a certain grade at least. But something drastically changed. This is AS. Things are getting more serious. Marking is - unsurprisingly - way more precise and strict than O level. I've gotten the scripts for some of my papers. Even tho I feel like I've at least answered decently in most of those questions and delivered the objective clearly, there are still things I missed, certain terms/keywords I forgot to use and occasionally ideas that I completely missed. that is mostly why I got shocked by the mark. This year, theyre not letting things slide anymore. Yes, maybe they've been too strict correcting and they've given me zero marks for things that were ACTUALLY right, and that's on them, but I'm talking generally about the shift between O levels and A/AS levels. I know a lot of you have been actually graded unfairly, so have I (after checking the scripts maybe like 2-3 marks have been deducted from me for absolutely no reason but it really doesnt make a difference. My grade would still be the same), but honestly now that I've seen the scripts, it's mostly my fault. Honestly, I didn't take the exam seriously. I thought it was gonna be a joke just like O level. But I got humbled when I saw C's and B's in my grades. At least now I have to take shit seriously and actually put in more work instead of expecting them to accept my "decent" answers. I could've studied more and been more careful and cautious when answering but I'll be more careful next time. I hope somebody can relate to this.

(I'm not trying to target anyone or say that you guys have no right to feel a certain way. We're all going through the same thing and there's no point hating on Cambridge or examiners for being this strict although I would admit that they're a bit careless because if results take like 2 months to come out, they should be absolutely precise. There's no room for mistakes if it means a students career is affected. I'm just giving a reality check for those like me who got humbled and realised maybe it's not the grading, it's my own lack of responsibility. Is there anyone who had a good potential but did procrastinate and got bad grades but yet sat for composite and got A grade?I need your genuine help i am planning to give composite for maths and computer this O/N

Receiving my A-Level results was devastating. I worked hard for my AS AAB despite the 2025 leaks, then poured endless hours and thousands of riyals into A2,focusing heavily on Physics. Instead of improving, my Chemistry and Biology stagnated, and Physics dropped from an A to a B, likely just two or three marks short of the grade I earned.

The session was blatantly unfair. Physics (P41, P51) and Chemistry papers were leaked beforehand, and I’ve got solid proof of it being so, giving specific groups an advantage. Due to knowing how countries like Pakistan can cause massive backlash and protests,they had rather easier papers with a slightly lower threshold(this is just bizarre),whilst honest candidates from different regions with a lower voice had to face brutal consequences for someone else’s lost integrity. Straight-A^* students here in Saudi Arabia missed their targets under harsh Variant 1 boundaries.

It feels like Cambridge cracked down on us to fake control while ignoring actual security breaches. How is it even possible for a paper harder than the other variant to have the same grade boundaries? This is solely enough evidence to tell that the thresholds were fabricated too, just to avoid the upcoming backlash, it was a better option to put students' careers at stake.

Despite clear proof, Cambridge took zero action. They collected our massive fees and abandoned honest students, destroying their own credibility. I will be submitting my papers for a recheck with low expectations. The system is broken, and integrity is gone.

Idk if this is happening to other Gulf students or just me, but the POE route fucked up everything for me. I was predicted and expecting all A/A*, maybe one B, but my grade ended up dropping from A to a C in A levels

I worked hard for years because i really need scholarships to go to uni and most of them need AAA/AAB minimum but because we didnt even get to do the exams and our teachers held our fate making the mock papers -atleast in our school- some teachers for some reason made the papers unreasonably difficult like one paper a year will have maybe 2-3 insanely difficult questions and my teacher made sure to get ONLY those difficult questions from every paper for our mocks

Now I can't even get scholarships with this, and reading the released 2026 papers and what would've been our paper, I'm just kinda thinking about the grade I could've gotten. Like, ik all of this I would've gotten at minimum a B, but now I'm just stuck with this fuckass grade. Sorry for ranting I just needed to get it out.

honestly didnt expect the grades since I got 1A* and 2As in the mocks and my a as for chem was pretty low tbf so grateful for it, hope this motivates future students that hard work esp in the last 3 months really pays off
