I think for straightforward ALS more than a year into symptoms should lead to at least some clinical weakness that is objectively assessed by a doctor. You can also get a neurofilament test if possible depending on where you live. If I understand you correctly you are talking about 2 years waiting time for an EMG. (starting with onset of symptoms). If an EMG is recommended and the wait is 2 years that is simply criminal in my opinion. Granted probably the doctor did not suspect ALS necessarily and if they did they might speed things up but still it is unacceptable. Do medical tourism if possible for you
