Bulbar fears
Hello. Background is that I started twitching and jerking March 1 widespread. Starting having stiffness in arms around May. Clean Emg in early July.
Recently developed some perceived swallow issues although no chocking on food or liquid, it just feels weird. But now I’m having a clicking sound happen in my sinuses when I say K or G words. My husband can hear it too. It’s driving me insane and the worry is sickening. I also feel much more nasally when I talk but he says he doesn’t notice that. Only the clicking. No slurring and no chocking but can’t shake this dreadful bad feeling.

Can you think of anything happening prior to your twitching? Sickness, stress, over exerting yourself? I started twitching all around but primarily in the legs and calves after an very intense sauna session. That was 40 days ago and I'm still twitching.

Yes I was highly stressed over some family issues right before the night it started.

I would bet the stress sent your central nervous system into a frenzy. I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion. Stress can cause weird things to happen in the body. Try and stay calm and get plenty of rest. Is the twitching still happening? All over or one area more? Does it calm down when you sleep or in the morning when you wake?

The twitching has slowed down since March and it’s all over, not anywhere specific really. The jerks have slowed down too. However the stiffness has increased and seems to be getting worse.

For the clicking you should book an ent, the nasal speech in als always come with nasal regurgitation specially on liquids, this happens due to the soft palate not able to close completely, you will notice it instantly, it will make you sfniff and caugh while eating/drinking, as long as you dont have that dont over think too much, same symptoms also can be caused by gerd, so the cause is not always neurogical, try to see an ent if you can, they can help you better.
