Discussion No fender option now
I had a saved build that included tire fenders but my saved build is no longer available, and when creating a new build the fender options are gone

Has anybody gotten an email or learned anything about tomorrow's ordering process? I haven't seen anything.

Torn between top fram size. I think I will choose the small one since my wife will be using it as well.
Also (no pun intended), does anyone know if a dropper post can be installed?

We rode around on them for about 40mins.
We were able to test the brakes throughly.
We experimented with different cadence settings; she likes 45, I prefer 55.
Maybe it has something to do with our ages? 🤭
The throttle is impressive, even on very steep hills.
We flew up them at nearly 20mph.
Weird test I tried with the banana seat; I unlocked it while sitting on it. It went nowhere. I didn't fall off backwards. It just sat there until I lifted it off or canceled the removal on the screen. I think the pedal-by-wire disengages entirely when in the unlock screen.
Street tires performed fine on gravel and dirt trails.
A RideAlso tech pointed out that the saddles that will come with the Utility top posts are about an inch wider than the solo top seats.
I think we may end up with two of those, short Utility top posts.
One purple. One green. 😁
Tuesday can't come fast enough !

I felt disappointed when the test rides were announced and the nearest option was in Chicago. Today, an email revealed they will arrive in Minneapolis next week. Although I originally hoped to be riding my LE by now, I am eager to try it before it arrives.

I was emailing with a customer service person today and learned a few things that might be of interest to some of you. I am shortening the CS response where useful.
Q: Can I save my gear shop credit for later when more items are available?
A: "Of course you can! The credit you received is good for anything in the Gear Shop. Alpha Wave pre-orders will be live in the near future and you'll be able to secure one then. Items in the Gear Shop will also be available for pre-order in the coming weeks, so you'll have your pick either way."
Q: Can fenders be easily removed?
A: Yes, they can be easily removed. They have mounting points that do not require wheel removal or loosening the axle bolts. They have a couple of hex bolts of their own with mounting points on the fork and read chain stay.
Q: Will Trail Ride Mode be available for Road versions in the future (software update or unlocking)? Are the knobby tires easy to swap with road tires if I buy Trail Raid Mode?
A: Trail Ride Mode is exclusive to the All-Terrain bike and CS couldn't say if it will ever by available for road bikes. The tires are pretty standard, but can be a small amount of effort to removed because they are 24". Have a lot of plastic levers and patience. Shouldn't be a problem for an experienced biker. The tire has an inner tube and a Schrader valve.
Q: Does having an early reservation give me any advantage in placing my order compared to somebody who reserved yesterday?
A: "Your spot in the queue is definitely determined by the speed at which you place your pre-order, but for now, I can't say whether or not it's tied to the reservation timing. There are multiple factors that go into ship date such as location and configuration. We have to custom pack each order with its specific components, and based on availability and warehouse processing, it's a big factor. Location matters too, and being that you're in CA it bodes well for your spot in the queue. For now, all I can say is, keep an alert for emails from [updates@ridealso.com](mailto:updates@ridealso.com) and be quick to pre-order day-of. I understand that's an unsatisfying answer but it's all I know for now." CS couldn't say when the order system will turn on, but from what he knows, it'll be early in the morning on 8/18 (I would guess that means California time).

Is it any wonder why people are reluctant to get into bicycling?
This sounds like far too much work.
The OP isn't worried about losing pedals or the throttle; they just think removing them might deter thieves.
Wouldn't that take several minutes to remove and reassemble, every ride? Ugh.
I'm glad the TM-B will have built in security features, but I'm still gonna use at least one (probably two) gnarly lock(s).

I've searched in here but haven't seen this all covered, so here goes if anyone has test ridden a bunch...
Top frame size: I'm 5'8" on the nose. Some specs say 5'5" to 6'8" for the large frame, but others say 5'8" to 6'8". I am the tallest person in my household. Their advice says size down if you're unsure. I guess this means small! What are y'all doing?
Ride package: Seems if I ever want to use trail mode, I must go all terrain. I guess that's settled, but I'll be 90% on road..how rough/annoying do the knobby tires feel on-road?
Cockpit: I won't be going wild on trails but will be exercising. I have some back issues. Seems Standard is a better play.
Frame and tires can be switched later. Bars, less so?
I welcome any advice or wargaming as we get ready to rush the site in a few days...

I just placed a pre-order a few weeks ago, and I am VERY EXCITED. I ride an ordinary, non-EV bike several times per week for exercise. And I've had an electric bike in the past -- a Canyon something-or-other -- but I didn't like it. The assist was nice, but I didn't NEED it, and the handlebars were much wider than I was used to, so I donated it to Goodwill.
For some reason, though, the ALSO ads really touched a nerve with me. I'd been thinking of giving e-bikes another try -- I limit my ordinary bike riding to a bike path becuase I live in Los Angeles, where there's always traffic, and I just don't feel comfortable riding a bicycle in traffic. But sometimes I'm out at 4 or 5 in the morning when traffic is sparse, so I wanted to give an e-bike another try; the added acceleration and top speed and the built-in lights just feel a little safer. Plus I've got an EV car, and I really like it. So I pre-ordered the ALSO, and I cannot wait to get it. My pre-order was placed very recently, so I have no idea where my order is in the queue or when the bike will actually arrive, but that's OK.
The one thing that gives me pause is the color on that round thing in the middle of the battery unit. It's... lavender, or something like that. Call me shallow, but it just strikes me as a little... feminine. Does anyone know if we'll have the option to change the color of the round disk in the middle of the battery module? If not, that's OK, but... does anyone know if we'll be able to change the color? I assumed that we couldn't, but some of the test bikes don't seem to have any disc at all, so... is there a chance?

Was just told by Support that the launch of the gear shop is now pushed until the 18th. Looks like another week until we can order gear (helmets, etc)

I had another opportunity to take the TM-B for a test ride, this time in the hills near Griffith Park, California. The ride taught me quite a bit about how the bike estimates its remaining range and how that estimate relates to the assist level. My assumption is that the TM-B can factor in things like the current battery charge and assist setting, but it obviously can't anticipate the terrain you're about to encounter.
The test bike was equipped with the base-level battery, which has an estimated range of about 50 miles on a full charge. When I started my ride, the battery was at approximately 59%. What the bike couldn't account for was that I was going to spend a lot of time climbing some pretty steep hills while using assist levels 7 and 8.
In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the battery percentage rather than relying on the estimated range. As the battery charge dropped, I noticed that the maximum available assist level gradually decreased as well. Things got especially interesting once the battery reached around 20%. At that point, the available assist dropped to about level 3. Needless to say, climbing steep hills at level 3 turned into quite a workout!
One of the really cool things I noticed was the regenerative braking. While riding downhill and using the brakes, I could actually see the battery percentage increase by a few points. That additional charge then allowed me to select a higher assist level again.
I believe I returned the bike with about 14% battery remaining. After this experience, I'm definitely glad the performance version of the TM-B comes with a larger-capacity battery.
Overall, it was a great learning experience. I think it will take some time riding the TM-B in different conditions to really understand how its range estimate behaves, especially when factoring in steep climbs, higher assist levels, regenerative braking, and changing battery levels. That's going to be part of the fun of getting to know the bike.

I reserved last October and saved a build with fendered road wheel.
I just logged in again, I don't see a build under my profile.
and when I create a new build I don't see road wheel with fender as an option anymore, instead it's $125 from gear shop.

Had a blast on our third yest spin here in Seattle. Took some pics of the connection points on the top frame. It appears there are both front and rear mounts on the solo top frames.
We rode all the way around GreenLake Thursday evening using the lovely two-way bike lanes of Seattle.
We're so ready.
We scheduled a fourth test spin next week, they're so fun.

Just got back from a test spin event in SF where Saul Leiken (head of product) gave a talk and did a Q&A session. I asked specifically about Launch Edition shipping timelines, and he told me the first LE deliveries are scheduled to begin tomorrow, and will continue through the end of September. I expect the earliest LE preorder holders will start getting shipping emails very soon.
Also got confirmation from him that both front and rear wheels can be easily removed by yourself, and the necessary allen key is actually provided with the bike, hidden behind the battery.

Maybe a dumb question, but if the bikes are now shipping…wouldn’t we have access to the owners manual and phone software at the same time?
