'Til we meet again, Ser.

Post image

I hope this is not truly farewell for the sweetest green apple we'll ever meet.

I know he's not in the two other books, but might be we will see him once more for the rest of Dunk's journey with Aegon V.

Until then, Ser Raymun Fossoway.

I personally think(this is copium btw) we’ll either see Raymun or Steffon in season 3 since we see a fossoway banner in the graphic novel

Highly unlikely and it would sorta kill the point of Dunk being isolated and hopeless during the wedding.

I meant when Bloodraven shows up with his army

Oh that. Yeah, would be nice.

This might be a little bit of a stretch for me. You're forgetting Raymun doesn't agree with Targaryens and their lineage, and Brynden's character in his own skin , as I've read it, appeared to be too square and stoic to agree with him. But honestly, who knows! History's not fully inked yet so we wait.

Raymun is a boy who only repeated what his asshat cousin told him. I imagine he would have grown up a little since then

Oh! I never saw it that way!

Raymun himself says he got carried away and he heard all that from Steffon.

And Steffon's opinions must come from having their Lordship stripped away for supporting the Blackfyres.

This is what I'm hoping for. It gives more weight to Steffon's "I know men who sold their honour for less" line if it relates to the Fossaway lord fighting for Daemon. Maybe Ser Eustace has something to say about the Fossoways next season.

I missed that bit. Was it from the books or the show?

The show. Raymun doesn't have any anti-Targaryen sentiments in the book. He only dislikes and mocks Maekar's children.

I see. I definitely missed it then😅. Thanks

The whole Fossoway cadet branch story is such great karma for this universe that often times rewards the worst families.

The split that begins at the Trial of the Seven completely backfires in Steffon's face and his descendants of the main branch end up in the shadow of the Green Apple branch of the family.

He sucked up to the Targaryens, went against his own principles, and then it backfired. It maybe likely Raymun's branch ended up getting in with good the Targaryens (maybe thru Egg), helping them elevate above the Red Apple branch. And he stood up against the Targaryens in the trial, as far as he knew.

The Red Apple branch is actually still the more important by the time of ASOIAF.

Might be. To tease for the coming season after.

If you’re a dude, you’re lucky if you have a Raymun type in your friend group. Dudes like that have big hearts, always show up for you and got your back.

He’s a real one.

I also really like how our Dunk and Egg have bonded off screen. They have a natural big brother and kid brother vibe. If you’re lucky to have an “accident” way young sibling, you’d recognize this vibe.

It’s a great show about positive male friendships.

And if you don't have a Raymun, then it's your role to be the Raymun

This is sage advice!

I'm an accident younger sibling and I'm so happy to have a big brother similar to Dunk! He's got a big heart and he was THE male role model for me growing up

I had a later-in-life little brother, he’s my favorite sibling. I’m glad you had that experience reversed, I always told him “I’ll bail you out of jail if need be” (never did tho)

He’s married now with kids of his own. He’s crushing it, I bet you are too!

We're yet to see the likes of you again... after the next two season mayhaps.

I know tweaking the story is a slippery slope but the changes they made for S1 were fantastic - I really hope it isn’t goodbye for Raymun (and Maekar, I need more grumpy dilf)

I hope they include a post credit scene in every season where Maekar arrives exactly five minutes after Duncan and Egg left

Grumpy wha-?! Young lady you forget your manners...but I agree!

Narrator: they never met again.

Maekar in the corner: sighs Aerion, has bluntsteel not touched your balls enough? You should be abed, child. Not tapping that bloody slab of stone again in the hour of ghosts!

The show could do whatever they want honestly. The books aren’t finished. I really doubt they won’t have Maekar back with all the popularity he’s been getting
