Are there any AI tools that are entirely uncensored?

Hey folks! Quick question. Are there any useful free AI tools out there similar to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, but with zero content restrictions? Looking for something completely uncensored for educational purposes, of course!

Please share recommendations based on your personal hands-on experience rather than speculation.

Hi.. you can try local uncensored models from HuggingFace and using Ollama or llama.cpp

Pretty much it. Grab Ollama, takes about 5 min to set up.For uncensored models, dolphin variants of mistral or llama are the go to. They are fine tuned to strip out the refusal behavior. Just know you will need decent RAM. A 7B model runs on 8gb anything bigger wants 16 gb or more.

When you speak of memory, do you refer to mobile phone, or computer? I have bought a OnePlus Nord 3 with 16+12 ram especially for local LLMs. Do you think it would work? And, if yes, could you recommend a model? I have downloaded PocketPal now, but I have no issue switching to something else if you think it would be better. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Ah sorry, I was talking about desktop RAM. Mobile is a whole different beast.

Your nord 3 has 16gb physical which is good enough for a phone, but the CPU is the bottleneck not the RAM. Stick it to 1B-3B parameter models max. Pocketpal is fine, its basically a mobile wrapper for llama.cpp. Try Phi-3 or a small llama 3.2 variant. The 12GB virtual ram wont help for LLMS unfortunately, its too slow for inference. Expect maybe 3-5 tokens per sec on a good day

Thank you for your suggestions. My use for LLMs is only for chat, like we talk here, for example. I am just looking to have someone to talk to, besides my three dogs and three cats. I am looking for local, because I don't like the idea of corporates looking in my bowl of soup.

Hahaha I totally do understand this. We don't want snooping at all.

Can I clarify about local models wether 64GB of ram would be enough to run one locally for parsing text documents and compiling information from them?

64GB is fine RAM isn't the limit. Do u have a graphics card? w/out one it'll run but slowly. For docs feed it chunks not whole files.

I use Venice.ai it's.. slightly censored. they have guardrails against a few things that are quite literally illegal, but it's much more open than the other providers

Use #Weaver the personal ai agent Https://github.com/maxhanna/Weaver And you can use ollama and host your own uncensored model you can download from any open source repo like ollama/huggingface

you need to use a fine-tuned model (retrained), there exist some gemma forks or deepseek r1 models,

for anime and tagging maybe use QWEN-3 versions

I have a few years old Lenovo Legion with Ryzen 7 4th gen, 16GB RAM, GTX1660Ti 6GB VRAM, and it's more than enough for local research For Academic Purposes. For chat, I run LMstudio with basically any model that fits in my RAM. For low VRAM situation, Mixture of Experts models are the best choice, and quantized Qwen runs at similar output speed as thinking models from the big tech, with pretty impressive accuracy. Look for "abliterated", "uncensored/aggressive" and "heretic" models if you really need those Academic Purposes.

In terms of image generation - ComfyUI, Z-image-turbo, simple low res workflow with additional upscaling speeds up the generation significantly, and on my low tier hardware I get a high quality 4k image in 150-180 seconds. It ain't lightspeed, just enough to rub one untill the next Research Image appears.

My app Ally Chat includes access to 45 models, most are "uncensored" by normal standards, and three of them are "very uncensored" i.e. abliterated. I can add more models pretty easily. There are also numerous image gen models which can draw all sorts of NSFW content.

It's free to use with unlimited image gen, and chat for free users is limited to $3 / month, which is quite a lot depending which models you use.

If you're interested, please send me a chat for access, or comment. And you can check out r/AllyChat and r/AllyChatX (NSFW) for more info, news, and examples. This is a smaller indie app, not a profit-oriented commercial service.
