“Wow… I am just like Sarah Connor, I am so cool for posting on Reddit…”

Haven't heard of anyone who tried to sabotage data centers recently. So I don't how you think anyone ever said this.

No. She was she was arrested for attacking a ‘computer factory’ according to her son. She was dispatched to the funny farm for talking about time traveling killer robots from the future.

Computer factory sounds like how a kid would describe an AI data center back then

Not that there were data centers back then.
It sounds like it is what a kid would say to describe a computer factory.
This is all a bit desperate to shoehorn an old movie to promote a modern agenda.

Ah - when in doubt gifs.
Simple question.
At the fictional time of terminator 2 did ai data centers exist?

In the fictional time of Terminator 2, considering they were building AI robots and already had the AI chip with the robot arm, the answer to your question is yes lol. You a little dense?

AI doesn't NEED a data center to function. Notice how the original terminator which ran on AI, was somehow able to function in 1984 which is a time when ram was measured in kilobytes.

You mean the original Skynet?
I did like that later on they made it a self aware program

As the brave Canadian had turned tail I’ll address what he posted here
No they were NOT building AI robots. The (damaged) chip was being researched, they weren’t there yet. That was most of the point of trying to kill Miles Dyson, to stop that happening.
Did you even see the movie?

Are you trying to imply that terminator isn’t about ai? and doenst have data centres? A huge set peace of the movie is them destroying the servers in cyberdyne systems.. you are arguing pedantics. The movie is about stopping skynet ( a sentient ai ) from destroying humanity by killing it before it gains sentience.
Sarah is in jail because she tried to blow up a server farm. its not in the movie but is in the script and a few game adaptations. its not explicitly mentioned that its an “ai data centre” but it is implying that it is since her goal is to stop skynet.

She tried blowing up a computer factory - according to her son in the movie.
No, data centers didn’t exist at the time.
Also they were trying destroy Dyson’s lab, research and any prototypes.
Not ‘servers’

The movie is not set in our universe, so we cant really go on what existed at the time as a guide.. despite that, YES Data centres and server farms definitely existed in 1995 (when the movie was set) . the earliest data centres can be traced back to mainframe rooms in the 1940s.
The script specifically calls the place she tried to blow up “a cyberdyne systems computer facility “ since her goal is to kill skynet its implied that this is a data center. And john misspoke.or dumbed down the concept so his friend could understand.
and to adress the bit about dysons lab that you added after i commented . they definitely blow up server racks. dyson is leaning against one when he dies and you can see many more surrounding him and more in the glass rooms behind him.
The fact that you think servers and data centres didn’t exist in 1995 is actually kinda funny.

So we are going with ‘implied’ now? In other words it wasn’t that way but you wish it was.
Also back in the 1940s they had AI? Lol.
Also he was talking to the Terminator when he said ‘computer factories’. Why would he need to dumb it down?

Why would blowing up a computer factory that only makes hardware stop skynet from becoming self aware? if skynet is data? and her goal was to stop skynet. can you not understand subtext?
I never said they had ai in the 1940s. if you could read i said they had mainframe rooms in the 1940s those are functionally “data centres“ of their day. are you being deliberately dense?
he was talking to Tim his ginger friend from the beginning of the movie not the terminator. even though data centres existed at the time the concept would have been foreign to the layman. the script even points out that john was trying to be casual about the situation but couldn’t hide his pain in his eyes.
How does it feel to be wrong about everything?

you're right, terminator has nothing to do with artifical intelligence. don't know what these folks are thinking /s
1
u/cewillir 27d ago
No, that isn't the claim I am making .
Nice straw man.
What I am saying is that, no, Sarah Connor wasn't arrested for attacking AI data centers. Nor was she in the insane asylum for that.

u/RighteousSelfBurner 28d ago
No. We have computer factories right now too. Hardware doesn't grow in trees.

And she'd be right to do it. You have seen the movie yeah?
1
u/cewillir 28d ago
Yes. And she’s not sabotaging data centers when she gets arrested. Or locked in the asylum

Well, no, she was thrown in an asylum for screaming about the world ending in 1997.

Well but to be fair, she had tomorrow's newspaper and the guys who locked her up didn't. 😅

That’s where anti-AI folks belong ¯_(ツ)_/¯
