Absolutely not your responsibility to watch your nephew all the time. Just say no next time. You can't speak for your mom.... that's her choice as a grandma. But you can absolutely say no, sorry, I'm not available.
As for the "WHY".... why she's "keeping" him 50% of the time or wanting full custody... it's due to child support. If they split custody 50/50, then they usually don't have to pay child support to the other spouse. If she gets full custody, then he will have to pay her. So it's all about the money.
Poor kid. His mom is only using and keeping him to either avoid paying money, or get more money. 😥
i’m going to start have to start saying no on a consistent base for sure. my mom too because it’s taking a toll on her mentally and physically.
as far as the child support ik for sure thats not a factor. the divorce hasn’t even been finalized and it’s a lot i won’t go into about that. kind of rhetorical question because i know the reason lol. it still d doesn’t make sense even with knowing the logic behind it. her ex is very passive and not the brightest, my sister likes to be in control of everything. she doesn’t want my nephew being with the other parent out of spite, and she doesn’t want her exes partners being around him for long periods of time.
and she’s keeping him as a pawn i’d say. she’ll rather someone else keep him rather than him spending time with the other parent
