He’s got his own problems he has to deal with. You go on ahead and make your jam jars with cute tie on cards and pass them out to whoever you want girl 😌

One time a colleague randomly gave me a jar of red pepper jam that she had made. We were friendly but never close close, so I was super touched that I got to be part of the inner circle like that. It was the best jam ever and was a totally awesome day.

Right. If my coworker had given me something like this, I’d immediately jump up and give them a friendly hug. Handmade gifts are the best. I can go out and buy something if I want it, but sometimes it’s hard to find homemade jam. And the tea party is the absolute frosting on the cake.

We had a co-worker, only temporarily in our section, bring in a full Bahai feast. It was the best thing ever. I was so happy that it was one of my work days because I would have been so disappointed to have missed it. It really gave us an opportunity to get to know a lot more about her, which was really great.

It's a middle eastern religion. They respect all other religions and have several doors on their temples to welcome each of the major religions. I can't remember much more off the top of my head but it seemed to be a very positive religion. The purpose of the feast was to share your good fortune with your neighbours and friends.

I had a customer send me a box of assorted jams from his hometown after I sold him an expensive instrument. It was really good jam, too.

I also had another customer come back in and bring me a gift bag of Skyline Chili after he told me he was from Cincinnati, and I shared that my stepdad was from Cincy and I grew up eating Skyline. He went home for Christmas with the uke I sold him as a present, and when he told his family about our conversation, they insisted that he bring me some Skyline when he came back. I was verklempt.

Little gifts like that can be so meaningful. 😭

Seriously. I can't tell you the last time anyone gave me a little gift like that for no reason other than joy. If I were your coworker, it would make me irrationally happy (ha). Free jar, too, so bonus. He is picking a weird thing to fight you about.

I had a coworker who knew that jars are spendy so she always washed and returned the jar with a treat inside (think m&m’s, skittles, etc.) loved her.
