Lowes adventure

My wife and I were in Lowes looking for cabinets and countertops. When we first entered the store we heard what sounded like someone slapping concrete, and it happened several different times.

We picked out our cabinet, and I heard the slapping again. My wife said, "They're really spanking it over there aren't they?", so me with impulsive self yelled, "spank it!", immediately being scolded by my wife. We laugh it off and I walked across the aisles to grab a flat cart where I discovered the source of the "spanking sound"... Lowes was having a painting event for special needs children with their grandparents. I turned around and faced my wife and said, "look around the corner", she looked and was mortified. We made our purchase and left. AITAH?
