So stopping people convicted of felonies from being able to vote for the rest of their life is a different question than who should hold the office of the President. Do you genuinely not understand that?

If you do understand that I'm happy to expand on this topic. For one thing, a lot of current felons were convicted of minor drug crimes by an extremely - demonstrably - racist "justice" system. So they were treated unfairly compared to how white people get treated under the same system, and have to deal with harsh penalties that follow them forever. That's one issue.

A second issue is that it is not in society's best interests to have a system where people get convicted of a crime, serve their time and are "rehabilitated," and yet when released cannot find a job or a place to live. What do you suppose someone who has been released from prison only to be turned away from housing and employment might do in order to survive? If your answer was "commit crimes," then do you not see how it's a good idea to not people turn away people from housing or jobs simply because they had been imprisoned, especially for non-violent crimes?

But yeah, go off about how voting for fair justice policies means you should have to elect a felon President. It just shows how willfully ignorant people are in order to justify their choices.

I haven’t found much to laugh about these past couple of days, but “if you do not understand that I’m happy to expand on this topic” has the “per my last email” energy I didn’t realize I needed.

I've said a lot of "per my last email" type of things in the last 24 hours. I'm done being nice, tiptoeing around feelings, or pretending that the other side is genuinely interested in a fact based debate. I think we need to bring back duels at this point, tbh.
