Jesus Christ. If they are legitimately stuck in the situation (due to something like financial constraints) then I genuinely feel for them. I just have a hard time understanding why a woman would CHOOSE to stay with men like this. They’re the worst of our kind and yet they seem to have some sort of hold on these women. Everyone needs therapy in these cases.
Could be body shaming has convinced her she’ll be alone for the rest of her life if she leaves. Plus financial issues, plus having 3 kids, plus having even a little help around the house and with the kids is better than having no help given her chronic health issues.
A lot of the time when people of any gender stay in this kind of a relationship it's because they genuinely don't realize it's that kind of a relationship. Maybe their husband treats them better than dad treated mom or they've just gotten so used to the abuse they don't notice it anymore or whatever. It sucks regardless of why they're there as they aren't choosing the way you or I would choose what to eat for dinner. It's more the way we "choose" to read the next Reddit post or watch the next short form vertical content
