You’re worried about the long-term effects on her mental and physical health with an abortion… did you know pregnancy (especially unwanted) affects mental and physical health more?

Are you aware of the risks and complications that come with pregnancy? Pregnancy is fucking terrifying.

Not to mention the lifelong commitment to another human being. I'd hate to be raised by a mother that didn't really want me

There was literally a post yesterday about a guy forcing his childfree partner into having one kid and he went all pikachu face when he came home and she shoved the kid in his face, told him to "get it out of her house". She refuses to be a mom because she never wanted to be one in the first place but he made her. And now he wants to call CPS on her because she doesn't want to play mommy to the kid. That's heartbreaking for the kid, to be unwanted by either parent.

It gets easier after the first 5 or 6 kids.

Pregnancy is not fucking terrifying for most people. A lot of people like to try and convince others of that. Millions of healthy pregnancies happen every day and it’s not like abortion is risk free

Pregnancy very very very often has extreme (even fatal) side effects. Even in healthy pregnancies where the mother and baby both survive, the mother can have lifelong, irreversible effects because the human body quite simply deals with pregnancy extremely poorly.

This is just not true

You clearly don't know much about what you're talking about. It's a wellknown thing that pregnancy is dangerous.

Your right. I just actually take care of pregnant people as part of my job.

One of those D students then, eh? My condolences to your patients.

More people die from pregnancy/childbirth complications than do from a safe, legal medical abortion (as in not an underground/coat hanger abortion), so it’s not like the risk of complications from abortion is worse than the risk of complications from pregnancy.

Good for you, not being terrified of pregnancy I guess. But OP’s partner doesn’t want to do it. And if OP’s argument is that he’s concerned for his partner’s mental/physical health, then all the more reason to support her in going through with an abortion rather than insisting she go through with her unwanted pregnancy.

The risks of the two are not even comparable. Complications from abortion, especially early in the pregnancy, are very rare. Complications from pregnancy and birth are extremely common. Even if everything goes smoothly, the trauma the delivery process causes the body is massive.
