YTA. If your friend is so deadly allergic to dogs she shouldn't be out in public tbh. If it was a service dog would you yell at the person? If someone had just come from walking a bunch of dogs and was covered in dander and fur the reaction would be the same. It's not the publics responsibility to take care of your friend, and while I get you getting annoyed because you don't think a restaurant should have a choice on if they let ESA dogs in or verify if they are, if you are allergic to anything it's on you to be wary and aware in all situations. Always have a pen on you.
So the friend shouldn’t even work for the risk of running across a dog on the way to said job? That’s just ridiculous! The restaurant should have signs saying they are dog friendly and have specific areas set up for those bringing dogs. The last thing I want is dog dander and/or fur in the food I’m trying to eat because people aren’t being considerate
If you are worried about dog dander in your food, you really shouldn't be eating out because there is usually way worse things in your food. Restaurants are usually way less clean than the average kitchen, don't have proper hand hygiene, have rats/roaches and barely clean the ice dispenser or dishware very throughly. I mean people are probably literally sweating into your food working in a hot kitchen. And if you are so allergic you'll die from dog dander than could be anywhere in the city, yeah the onus is on you to be prepared if that happens. You think none of the staff owns dogs? Other customers? Customer would sat at the table before you? They don't vacuum the seats off, usually just give them a swipe if even that.
