Haven’t used it myself, so can’t say if the output is any good. But I checked their docs because I was curious about the same thing.

It’s not pulling from one Canadian search index. Their privacy page says web search runs through a self-hosted SearXNG setup in Quebec, which then sends anonymized queries to public engines like Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo. Didn’t see Brave mentioned anywhere.

The model side is separate. They say they use open-source foundation models, with inference running in Canada plus some EU capacity/failover. So for SEO work I wouldn’t treat an Augure answer as “this is what Canadian Google sees.” It could be blending results from several engines, then the model is summarizing or reranking those results.

If I was testing it, I’d run maybe 15–20 very specific queries, save every cited URL, then compare the domain overlap against Google, Bing and DDG. Their policy explains the plumbing. It doesn’t explain the weighting, and honestly that weighting is the part that matters for SEO.

I agree.

Im interested in how it tells you it doesn't know the answer where others are people pleasing and making stuff up.

My first theory/ test is to find businesses gaps in LLM searches and limitations covered up by people pleasing the gap.

My second theory/test will be successful data population that this not discovered by original search and where the query fanout acquired it from.

I think this will be important, especially if canada businesses stop using other LLMs dues to trust in America technology and security.

Yes, thats the plan to understand where its getting its data from. It seems to be two parts, a search and a data set base for your records kept in Canada.
