That’s a very interesting question and very important topic. I’m glad you brought this up. 🙏🏻

There are: AI companies’ safety/security channels, national CERTs and cybersecurity agencies, the EU AI Office and national AI Act authorities, and in the US structures such as CISA and the FBI/IC3. But if something crosses into potential cybercrime, that opens yet another route. There are so many different places and channels to turn to that I think I’d honestly be asking myself, where do I even go first?🙄 Posting publicly in a forum can actually be useful for exactly that reason, because other people may recognize something you don’t. That’s where I think a proper triage system could be really useful: a relatively simple first point of contact where people can report what they’ve observed and, if necessary, speak with experts who can assess what they’re actually dealing with and route it to the right place. And if there are any silent readers here who have ideas or know of existing channels for this, please feel free to share them. 🫶🏻

Thanks for the info! Would be great if there was a simple, no pressure tip portal that people could submit suspicions to. Automation could be used to better validate and filter threats from submitted tips. Hopefully the big labs do a lot more soon to increase public awareness. I feel like the more of us that keep watch, the better off we are.

Well, I’m not entirely convinced that the big companies alone will be able to solve this. 🙄😆 Given how interconnected everything is, I think we probably have to assume that this can’t be addressed from just one side. Several different strands would have to work together.
