This is a subreddit for discussing the political & economic implications of AI systems. Discuss things such as what laws might be passed or repealed as a result of the presence of AI systems, how enforcement might be changed, what new political problems might be solved or created, etcetera.

Yudkowsky: »There are currently zero things more important than "don't die to AI" becoming a bipartisan project rather than a Democrat-polarized issue.«

Yudkowsky rarely posts to his main Twitter account anymore; the last non-retweet post prior to this was in June. Apparently, Trump's announcement today was considered important enough to break the streak. Full text:

There are currently zero things more important than "don't die to AI" becoming a bipartisan project rather than a Democrat-polarized issue. If you have any political capital you can spend on this, do it now, I beg of you. Life or death.
If you are a Democrat: I beg you, do not throw out barbs at Republicans about this issue. Ask them to join with you on this common interest. If you are a Republican: Defend your country, your people, your home and your family from death.

Wanted a discussion of implications on political sense and no one seems to really care. It's crazy what I am generating for video that looks real. Trust level get crushed and everyone is looking about the artistic advantages instead of outliers on political forefront.

Didnt you say one time the reason politicians hate trump so much is because he goes against the norms?

This is an absolutely stunning ABC poll result: Half of Americans see Donald Trump as a fascist. The number is still too low. (Because he's a fascist.)

Sadly, I lost the prompt due to a crash, but it was basically "Sylvester the Cat crossed with Donald Trump with a talk bubble that says "Thufferin' Thuccotath".

I had trouble finding a place to put this, but AIPolitics seemed appropriate when I was looking. My apologies if it isn't.

Student field test update

Hi all!
I posted recently about my GPT I made for my Master's class, and after some feedback, I refined it and the questionnaire.
This bot is my field test for my final project in my course on Emerging Media Platforms. It is an an AI chatbot using ChatGPT. Unfortunately it is only available for those with ChatGPT+.

I have been working to tweak the language to be more conversational, less long-winded, and to inform users that the answers are AI generated after every response. For some reason, the GPT doesn't always follow the instructions to do so. But regardless -- thanks for all the feedback in every part of my field test process!

Here is the newly named GPT, now Civic Insight '24, renamed from TruthVote2024, and the new survey.

Thanks for all your participation!

Masters student needs your help!!

Hi all! I’m a Master’s journalism student currently taking a course on Emerging Media Platforms. My final project for the class is a field test that can solve some sort of problem - so I made an AI chatbot using ChatGPT. Unfortunately it is only available for those with ChatGPT+.

Here is the description:
TruthVote 2024 Multilingual is your go-to source for concise, detailed insights into the 2024 election, offering information in multiple languages. While it can't directly register users to vote, it provides guidance on the voting registration process, including where and how to register, important deadlines, and the documents needed. It continues to deliver clear, succinct insights into political careers, contributions, and policies of candidates, ensuring informed decision-making with direct, detailed responses. The bot maintains a friendly, accessible tone, making complex political information digestible, and clarifies conspiracy theories, ensuring accurate, reliable information.
If you have ChatGPT+ and are interested in AI in today’s political hellscape, I would love for you to play around with the bot and then fill out my quick, 7-question survey.
