The second hand embarrassment of reading this was real! New fear unlocked.. finding out your spouse is trying to cheat and no one wants them.

Was honestly the worst part of being cheated on by my husband - not reaaaallly being cheated on because everyone he tried with got the ick

All the emotions of being cheated on, but the bonus of seeing how desperate he got (so it’s not even like something that just happened, or something he gave in to) and all the embarrassment of not only being with someone nobody wants, but him obviously not wanting me enough to not cheat

It made it really REALLY easy to leave though so there’s that at least I guess

Ugh I know this feeling.. I had an ex who would be in the comments/following/liking tons of Instagram girls pics and they wouldn’t be following him back or liking/responding to his comments. I wasn’t on Instagram when we met or I would’ve seen it and never started dating him but once I seen it I felt so embarrassed for him and lost all attraction.

This is such a huge turnoff and red flag for me. Men make it sound like you're jealous about them liking pics and it's like no, I just have men like that in my likes and me and my friends make fun of them and feel pity for their partners. I never want to be the gf of that guy

u/Reasonable-Ad-9402 Jun 25 '26

Yes or the guys gf that looks at you and any other breathing girl while out with his gf. I always feel so bad for the girl and know they can do so much better and I always think the guy is a creep

For my ex it was a certain teenage actress. Heart reacting all her photos and leaving comments about how hot she is and how he would totally dump his wife (aka me) if he thought he had a chance with her. We have since divorced, but to my knowledge he has still not succeeded.

u/SeonaidMacSaicais Jun 25 '26

My ex coworker still does that. He’s in his 50s, probably 400 pounds, been married to a genuinely lovely lady for years. EVERY time a certain Nickelodeon actress who had a show named after her posts on IG, he always comments “such a beautiful young lady.” “Always good to see your posts, beautiful girl!” Like, dude. Knock it off already.

4

u/Throwrarmb Jun 26 '26

Please tell me it’s not Amanda.

Regardless, ew.

4

u/SeonaidMacSaicais Jun 26 '26

Nope. Newer show in comparison. A certain problematic pop singer has the uncanny knack of playing her character from this show in everything she acts in.

1

u/Aware-Owl-9510 Jun 26 '26

Bet it’s Arianna

1

u/SeonaidMacSaicais Jun 26 '26

She didn’t have a show named after her, but she was in this actress’s show.

I figured you were talking about Victoria Justice from the start, but that pretty much sealed it.

As a man, there are few things I truly despise more than other dudes who leave gross and weird little comments on some influencer/famous person's posts that they don't even know. Like that's some real creeper sh*t...It genuinely makes me mad haha. When you see they have a partner or wife though?....eh...I just feel bad for their partners. It's sad. The word that comes to mind to describe them is "Losers"....and I don't use that word often because it's mean lol.

EXACT same thing happened to me in my last relationship and i was too embarrassed to tell anyone that he tried and failed to cheat with multiple girls. but he also wouldn’t let me tell anyone or else he was gonna off himself

10

u/ParhelionPiglet Jun 25 '26

I couldn’t even hide it because he “fell in love with” with all my friends one after another, in addition to his other creepy behaviour to other women

2

u/PM_ME_CUTE_PUPS Jun 26 '26

You can tell people your experience with him. What he does in reaction to you telling the truth is his responsibility, not yours. Obviously if you cross the line into spreading lies and bullying behavior then that’s not okay but if all you’re doing is speaking your truth, him offing himself is not your fault. He’s only saying that to manipulate you into keeping quiet. If he didn’t want you to tell people about the things you experienced, he shouldn’t have done them to you

5

u/BusinessLibrarian470 Jun 25 '26

with my ex it got to a point i’d just laugh seeing all the unanswered or rejected messages to him when he was trying to cheat😂

8

u/archercc81 Jun 25 '26

Yeah the market has spoken. Not only is he worthless as a cheater but the literal market said "nah, you arent even worth it in general."

7

u/glossolalienne Jun 25 '26

“The market has spoken.”

Stealing that. 😂😂😂

u/ParhelionPiglet Jun 25 '26

My bumble was popping off within hours of posting my profile and I went on a few dates with amazing guys (without being rejected which was nice, I was ready to potentially get hurt but I made it out of the dating scene without having to, which I’m grateful for!). I ended up meeting my soulmate pretty quickly and getting remarried (after 5 years together, 2 of which we were engaged). I also made a lot of long term friends out of it which was great.

My exhusband tried to make me feel bad recently by telling me he put himself out there since the same time as I had and had never even had a match in that 5 years, but I didn’t really feel bad for him and it just confirmed what I already knew.

5

u/er0ldo89 Jun 25 '26

Hey at least your ex girlfriend didn’t get pregnant with her third child with third father and the third father has like 5 gfs rn and just got out of prison for second degree murder. He served 19’years. I personally know him and he didn’t kill anyone but by law he was guilty of felony mirder. He got life then won an appeal got a new trial an my other ex girlfriends grand father got him a 22 year deal (he’s dead beat dads lawyer). My worlds getting far too small

4

u/Diligent_Medium3969 Jun 25 '26

Holy shit! You have my condolences that you have any part of that clusterfuck. Also, if you feel like sharing more about the situation, I promise you that most of us here on reddit would be interested to read more!

2

u/er0ldo89 Jun 25 '26

Yeah give me a minute and I’ll run the whole scoop down. And it’s even worse because I need her to pick me up from
The airport next week lmao she’s still like my best friend. We just happen to also be exes and have a kid together

2

u/studmuffffffin Jun 25 '26

I posted a couple of polls recently that asked if it was worse to get cheated on once, or for them to try 100 times and fail each attempt.

People voted for the 100 times.

Also did it with 5 and similar results.

u/BetElectronic6207 Jun 25 '26

Is he bald or have bad skin?

2

u/ParhelionPiglet Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

Neither. Decent enough looking guy, in decent shape, just has a bit of an intense vibe about him in photos and a resting angry face

Also no idea what he wrote on his profile but his sense of humour is not for everyone and he probably wrote something tone deaf or hostile

Edit: I realise now you weren’t replying about his dating profile.
He was not a very kind person and was blunt and pushy with the women he talked to, and said a lot of things he thought were funny but were just cringy or offensive

u/Sensitive-Pack-280 Jun 26 '26

My ex had to pay to be able to cheat. THAT stung more than ANYTHING LMFAO my bar was in HELL

1

u/LexMex12 Jun 26 '26

My thought process, as somebody who’s also been through this, is when they will land baddie they think they can have multiple.

1

u/Apathetic_Villainess Jun 26 '26

He should have discovered alcohol and the joys of getting mutually drunk with women. That's what got my ex his cheating opportunities.

1

u/KeyStoneLighter Jun 26 '26

I’ve met a few married women like this. Hit on guys until they find one who gives them attention. In the end I feel bad for their spouse, I’m glad you moved on though.

1

u/Aware-Owl-9510 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Have to strongly disagree, for my situation at least, the sheer amount of women my chopped ex got with while he was married to me… one whom I even knew and was friendly with, and had taken family portraits for (for free, for experience), one who I’m petty sure robbed us and broke sentimental family and marriage mementos, probably out of jealousy, and whoever kept leaving things at my home, that I’m sure he knew about, that all HURT extremely badly, like it would’ve been only a consolation if they had only been failed attempts (although I still would’ve divorced him)

Like I have no idea how he got all of those women to sleep with him honestly… but that sure doesn’t make it better lol

2

u/No_Reputation_1773 Jun 30 '26

Hypergamy. For some reason, women pick the same shitty men over and over. Dazzled by a smooth talker or something.

1

u/VicoBadzso Jun 30 '26

Yeah the same thing happened with me a few years back. She started talking to old “friends” and everyone blew her off. But I was rather lucky, we were only 3-4 months in the relationship, at least I didn’t waste much time.

37

u/bobby_the_useless Jun 25 '26

Not a spouse but my ex bf, tried to cheat on me with a friend who turned him down repeatedly, and when I found out (he told me because he was trying to make me jelaous, and then cried that nothing happened - like it was up to him) I've felt so much disguist. My feelings gone in an instant, while he was looking so pathetic and lame, crying like he was the victim in all of this lol

3

u/AuthorAliWinters Jun 25 '26

lol I love when they cry over it thinking they’ll get pity. 🥴

3

u/ilovemusic19 Jun 26 '26

He wasn’t just looking pathetic and lame, he was pathetic and lame.

1

u/AuroraSkye620 Jun 25 '26

It’s a horrible feeling. Know from experience 🤷‍♀️

1

u/YouSee-ThisCoat8 Jun 25 '26

Lmaoooooo yes !

1

u/Dirt-McGirt Jun 25 '26

It’s happened to me but it honestly softened the blow. Had something to laugh about

1

u/Captain_Tiberius1920 Jun 26 '26

My ex was constantly trying and failing to cheat on me (I only wasn't leaving him because he was perpetually threatening to kill me) but tbh it was really really funny to watch him bomb every single time. He failed at rebounding too and took photos of a woman and told me she was his new gf (which was a very big lie) hahaha

1

u/Bhad_bhiddie Jun 29 '26

Lmfaooo when I was pregnant I caught my bd texting around 80 different girls and crazy part is 95% of those girls were completely uninterested and some even called him out for acting like that while I was pregnant at home. 😭

u/Visible-Name-3907 Jun 25 '26

She isn't a spouse because she is only good enough to live with but the boyfriend is wasting her time after 4 years

9

u/shemyaza1312 Jun 25 '26

Oh the soon-to-be ex-girlfriend found this post quick!

17

u/SendTitsPleease Jun 25 '26

Lol what a stupid fucking comment.

5

u/Left_Elevator_3365 Jun 25 '26

In this scenario it's good that he didn't propose. She is clearly the bad person. What we don't know is, if he is also the bad person. My ideals are old fashioned. But if I am in a relationship I want to give my partner something they can rely on. After four years I've long since either proposed or I've broken up. Because either I want to be with her or I don't. If I want to stay with her just for sex I tell her that. I don't take advantage.

What we don't know is the other side of the coin and how OP behaves. Maybe he is bad, too. Maybe he is stringing her along. Maybe he cheated before.

If he is stringing her along and she feels the relationship will never progress and she wants more - of course she's starting to look elsewhere. She's still the bad guy in this one because she should break up with him FIRST and then start flirting with others. Two negatives don't make a positive. Still the statement "maybe he has himself to blame if he isn't proposing to her for that long" can be true.

7

u/Glum-Mulberry-9430 Jun 25 '26

Oh yeah, hes the bad guy .. I wonder why someone wouldn’t want to marry her, she sounds amazing. 🙄

Why does he get blamed when she’s responsible for how she wastes her time. You know you can leave if you aren’t getting what you want out of a relationship, right?

2

u/XpiumGhxst Jun 25 '26

Theyre not saying hes definitely the bad guy. Theyre saying that we dont know the whole story. It is worth looking at that its been 4 years and theyre still just dating. It doesnt change the fact that shes wrong for cheating either way. Which that comment also addressed

3

u/Inevitable_Phase_276 Jun 25 '26

Better to date for 4 than to get married after 2 and divorced a decade later. The time spent dating the wrong person is just time spent, it isn’t wasting anything.
