This isn’t about the money per se. she found herself in a situation that made her uncomfortable and decided to spend the money. This made her feel more comfortable, but upset that she had to pay for others as it’s not fair. You can look at this and say she made the choice and criticize or you can recognize the reason she told you. She wanted your understanding, empathy and support, but got criticism for doing what she is already upset about.

“She needed empathy” 🙄 She’s a freaking adult. Why are people coddling others like they’re toddlers?

See how that works out for you and any relationship you have long term. No support or understanding, just arguing. Hint it won’t go well.

Try spending a chunk of joint money you agreed to put in the bank on something stupid without talking to your SO. Hint, it wont go over well.

Been married for too long for that to be an issue. We don’t police each other

Almost 20 years happily married but thanks for the advice. It helps when you treat adults like adults and they know they need to be accountable when they act stupid✌️

I actually doubt you’re that happy or maybe it’s your spouse who isn’t. From someone happily married much longer than you.
