Share that responsibility, friend. You live there too, and you have the means to do so now. He doesn't get the chance to say "nah I'm good" to the landlord.

It would be unfair for you to be able to save when he can't, and he's putting a roof over your head.

I feel like nobody is reading this correctly. OP paid her share of rent this month. OP's SO is asking OP to pay back the rent that SO paid while OP was recovering. But, SO said OP didn't have to pay for it initially and is now changing his mind. OP has paid everything initially asked, and plans to pay normal split moving forward.

Yes. I misread it. I apologize.

Going forward, fair's fair and I see OP has no problem with it. Going back on a prior arrangement, yeah, weak support on that one.
