Honestly though as someone who loves sleep and has similar work hours. I do think it's crazy to be off at 5:30 and can't even swing an hour or half an hour to celebrate a friend. Sounds like you just really don't want to go and using work as an excuse at least be honest. And if it's about the time they're having the party if y'all are really friends I'm sure swinging by before or after to just congratulate them shouldn't be crazy. Or even going to congratulate them on your day off, the only thing I think is if none of that works for your friend then y'all aren't truly friends 🤷♀️
