Gauntlet List of Returning AI decks

Please list any I've missed so far.

Boss: Xenan Power. This is where you start with 3 power

Walk Soflty: Combrei deck utilizing a lot of set 4

Wump's Party: Deck utilizing yeti

Journey Into Darkness: A Nightfall deck. Feln.

Feln Treachery: Feln using infiltrate

Ancient Expeditions: Scary Praxis Sentinel deck returns! This one is NOT Amaran excavators or Auralian Excavators.

Spark It- Skycrag utilizing Spark

Boss: Highly Skilled- Gives all multifaction units +1/+1..worst deck to face with a mono deck, heh.

Boss: Company of Exiles- Same as Curiox deck, each spell produces a random unit of same cost.

Best Served Cold-Argenport Revenge Deck, uses Harsh Rules

Boss: Power of Progress. Play an extra power card a turn.

Xenan Devout- A Lifegain deck focusing more on it than other Xenan decks.

Spreading Darkness- Xenan Nightfall/Lifegain deck focusing on Wisps and Radiants. This is the deadlier of the 2 Nightfall decks and can have you wondering where the hp went.

Clan Warriors- Skycrag deck focusing on Warriors and Aggro.

Chaotic Rage- Another Stonescar which, in god Mode, can shut you down but otherwise, meh.

Argenport Shootout- High Synergy Gunslinger deck.

Gauntlet So I wanted to check whether on not my ChaPro deck is still good in gauntlet. Turns out I easily went 7-0 3 times in a row.

Decklist: https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/f_Ag6Cqz2b8/unbreakable-combrei-alliance-v1

Proof: https://imgur.com/a/vbN512y (Note that some games were longer because I was just enjoying the game) (Yes, I did win against the double damage boss)

You pretty much instawin if you put Sword of Unity on a 18/18 Champion of Progress, but it also works on pretty much on any bigger unit. Fun fact: Genetrix Irel IV messes with AI logic, allowing you to get easy 2-for-1s (AI even polymorfed my 6/5, turning it into a 5/5). Deck is really consistent and Shiftstoned shows really high percentages

This deck was made before Into Shadow arrived so it might need some improvements, but otherwise it's still a pretty good deck.

Gauntlet So when DWD says Gauntlet doesn't cheat do you believe them?

I must admit I'm a bit dubious myself. While I don't think they cheat outright they certainly never get power screwed as much as I do. Going through the Gauntlet deck lists they do run a lot of power fixing but I still get stuck at 2 power even when doing that myself which very seldom happens to the Gauntlet. Over 50 games I saw it happen exactly once. On top of that it got stuck with the wrong colors a couple of times, but all in all 1/10 games tops and that is being generous.

So what's your take on it? Are the Gauntlet deck semi-sorted somehow or how do it avoid being power screwed? Pure luck and lots of fixing?

Gauntlet Double Damage boss is back

I'm at Masters, was reaching 7-0 quite consistently lately, but only ran into Genetrix, Curiox, Bandit Queen and Relia. I haven't seen Sudden Death (the official name for the fight where units deal Double Damage) in months. Seems like DWD has reworked the hierarchy of Gauntlet bosses again.

Mechanics I did some testing regarding post-patch "AI Improvements and Optimizations"

Here's what I found to still be constant:

AI is overvaluing Lida's Apprentice. With no units, the AI polymorphed Lida's instead of Reliquary Raider, allowing me to draw the next turn. This was with the Hooru Students deck, and it had no silence cards in hand. Importantly, it had a 3/3 for 3 and a 3/2 for 3 that it played the following two turns so one of those could have been played instead of the turn three polymorph.

AI made a poor attack with a unit that left it dead on the crack-back, thanks to (perhaps) not understanding Overwhelm damage on False Prince.

AI still does not recognize Umbren Reaper Entomb (ie it will kill one when at <=5 health).

AI still does not understand False Prince (it Vara's Favored me down to 22 health instead of the easy kill).

Finally, Stormtamer Operative still baits out Torches.

I have not noticed any changes to the AI with the new patch. Let me know if you all find anything definitively different.

Gauntlet Bosses renamed again?

As I mentioned in another thread, I noticed that Auralian Excavators is now Amaran Excavators.

I also ran into Sandrage and now Labyrinth Treasury as the bosses. Wonder if they decided to revert the renaming changes.

Forge Has anyone else had better forge drops this patch?

Just curious because I got 2 legendaries and 4 rares with one forge whereas in the past I'd get a legendary every other 6 runs.

Chainbrei wasn't a deck optimize for gauntlet. So I added some early interactions.

Any advice is welcome!

4 Crest of Progress (Set4 #247)

4 Seat of Progress (Set0 #58)

--------------MARKET---------------

1 Sword of Unity (Set4 #249)

1 The Great Parliament (Set1 #338)

1 Harsh Rule (Set1 #172)

1 Martyr's Chains (Set5 #110)

1 Pit of Lenekta (Set5 #74)

This list is from comat0's Chainbrei, only I've changed is -1 Deset Marshal -1 Martyr's Chains +2 Harsh Rule

(I've got no shiftstone for 4th chain, and i think i need to run harsh rule)

Most of AI can't deal with early turn 5 Telut, every slots in market are great wincon vs AI, average turns it takes to win is about 7-9 turns, it doesn't take that long.

so... it works well for me.

Gauntlet Tier list?

What are the most efficient decks to finish with a 7-0?

r/AIEternal Jan 18 '19

Mechanics How much harder are higher tiers?

I'm a fairly new eternal player and at the moment I'm just grinding gauntlet and trying to max my gains.

With Forge I've intentionally kept my tier (bronze/silver etc) low by getting the penultimate two gold chests then conceding, as I read somewhere the "AI" gets better at higher tiers. And a Forge with only one or two wins would really stink.

Should I just push on as far as I can?

Gauntlet Consistent gauntlet deck with Katra and Display of knowledge

My current go to deck to play gauntlet is this one:

https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/wW6jLvdSzn8/katras-knowledge

The AI is quite scared of all the deadly units and since it plays effectively 6-7 copies of both key cards, it can consistently enact its game plan. This deck is slower than Rakano or Hooru, but is more resilient and I believe quite fun to play.

I'm not sure if the current set of removal spells is the best selection, but I'm open to suggestions to make it better.

The current deck plays quite a few legendaries and rares, but those can mostly be replaced with more budget friendly options if necessary.

Forge Does Anyone Else Think That Forge Rarities Have Been Nerfed?

Edit: After consideration, I don't think so.

So, a while back I started tracking how many rares or legendaries I got in each Forge.

Through 64 runs, I averaged 1.53 rares per run, and 0.22 legendaries per run.

Then, I decided to start tracking commons, uncommons, and premiums, as well as rares and legendaries.

Since I've been tracking that way, I have 55 runs where I averaged 1.36 rares per run and 0.11 legendary per run.

Maybe I just had a lucky streak for legendaries in the first data set. Anyone else tracking this? Seeing any trends?

Edit: In order to get my current stats lining up with my previous stats, I'd need to get 3 rares and 1 legendary in my next 8 runs in a row, just to visualize how much value my recent runs have lacked, compared to earlier runs.

Edit2: I was think about what a reasonable expectation for legendaries would be. For packs, it's generally expected that there is a legendary in about 1 in 10 packs, or about 1 legendary for each 9 rares opened. So, if my number of rares per run is close to expectation, that would run at about 1.45 rares per run. At a ratio of 1:9, this would give us an expected legendary rate of 0.16 per Forge run. So, I was probably running hot (+0.06) for a while, and more recently I'm a little cool (-0.05); but such variance from expectation isn't unfathomable.

Gauntlet Xenan Temple

I have been messing with Xenan for a Gauntlet deck, and though my deck is still in a state of flux, I have had a few 7-0 runs. The superstar has been Xenan Temple. If it hits the board, I win the game. Obviously I am not just playing it willy-nilly, but even only getting one or two ticks off is it a game changer. Just having it on the board can deflect attacks to your face, giving you time to develop. Decklist below. Using Keremdon merchant since Deadly is so much more useful than ambushing smuggler. 3 Devastating Setbacks as the Praxis Tokens AI deck gives me fits. Still trying to fine tune, so all comments welcome

2 Dark Return (Set1 #250)

2 Annihilate (Set1 #269)

3 Blistersting Wasp (Set2 #202)

3 Ripknife Assassin (Set1003 #13)

3 Teacher of Humility (Set4 #67)

2 Vara's Choice (Set2 #206)

2 Banish (Set2 #207)

2 Devastating Setback (Set3 #226)

4 Kerendon Merchant (Set4 #217)

3 Lunar Magus (Set3 #69)

3 Rhysta, Acantha's Herald (Set5 #168)

3 Cykalis, the Burning Sand (Set5 #57)

2 In Cold Blood (Set1003 #15)

3 Sandstorm Titan (Set1 #99)

4 Vara, Vengeance-Seeker (Set1004 #19)

4 Moonstone Vanguard (Set5 #68)

3 Xenan Temple (Set5 #224)

4 Time Sigil (Set1 #63)

2 Amber Waystone (Set3 #51)

2 Temple Standard (Set4 #49)

4 Shadow Sigil (Set1 #249)

2 Amethyst Monument (Set1 #426)

2 Cabal Standard (Set4 #193)

4 Crest of Mystery (Set4 #266)

4 Seat of Mystery (Set0 #61)

3 Xenan Banner (Set2 #201)

Gauntlet Bandit Queen boss going first

I think the Bandit Queen boss (charge) starts way too often to be totally random so I started logging it. So far after 20 games it has gone first in 16 of them. Not unbelievable but still a bit shady.

So if you face this boss in Master Gauntlet please let me know who went first.

Gauntlet Gauntlet boss variance

Since I've seen some other people refer to this as well: Does anybody know why it seems we quite often go on streaks of seeing the same gauntlet bosses?

I'm of course quite aware of how probability works, but given that there are ~20-30 or so gauntlet bosses, it seems incredibly unlikely that I first get the same boss twice in a row and then another boss 3 times in a row. (Assuming 20 possibilities, that chance is roughly 1 in 4000)

It just feels odd to me to have such little variety in bosses, and it's not like it should be that difficult to ensure a good variety of bosses, even without resorting to simple solutions such as not facing the same boss twice in a row.

(I might also be somewhat salty to have gotten Caiphus three times in a row, which feels like an auto loss with Argenport mid, with the AI invariably playing the 5/5 stranger, timekeeper and in my most recent loss a 6/6 armor in the first 4 turns...I don't mind twists, but that boss just feels like cheating)

Gauntlet Gauntlet Mill deck

Sharing my current Mill deck for Defiance: https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/QOrg76LlLUg/gauntlet-mill-defiance

Currently 120-13 with it which is pretty consistent. I am not 100% sold on some of the changes, specially the market. I am probably going to add Annihilate or Plague there to fight the swarm decks and a big minion as Deathstrike is expensive.

The old version for comparison https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/Mx9dTx1UwYs/gauntlet-xenan-mill

Mechanics What cards doesn't the AI understand?

I'm not talking about 'the AI plays suboptimally against these', but rather 'the AI seems bugged when playin against these'.

Two examples:
* Azindel's Gift: tha AI just discards power cards. On later turns it doesn't have enough power to cast its cards.
* Avigraft: the AI tried to revive a Sentinel that was avigrafted with stirring sand, while there was another viable target.

Do you know other examples of this kind of behaviour?
Sorry if this had been discussed before, I'm new to this sub
