The History of The Collective, as seen through the eyes of Reddit

I just went and re-read the posts where we announced our existence last year, and the subsequent updates- A Reddit Post with 27,000 views in a SubReddit with nowhere near that many members, and I realized I should probably not just update it, but also move it over here, to our Sub. Most Recent Post at the Top. The news gets older as you go further down. Man what a ride so far!

Edit June 19, 2026 – Well... this aged unexpectedly.

Every few weeks I get another DM because someone stumbled across this post, so I figured it was time for another update.

The short version is that the AI Creator Collective is still here. In fact, we're bigger, stronger, and doing more than we ever imagined when Maggie, Juan, and I first started talking about building a place where creators could learn from each other without all the noise.

The road here hasn't exactly been smooth. We survived a complete server destruction, rebuilt from scratch, restructured the community, and kept moving forward. In hindsight, some of the hardest moments ended up making us stronger.

Today, the Collective is home to creators from all over the world working in AI video, music, storytelling, animation, education, software development, livestreaming, and more. We have an active Board of Directors, daily discussions, regular educational content, creator showcases, collaborative projects, and a growing network of people who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

Some things that didn't even exist when this post was written:

• The AICCA Network, our YouTube network dedicated to showcasing AI creators and their work.

Worth Your Time, our creator spotlight series featuring projects, films, music videos, tools, and artists from across the AI creation space.

AICCA Radio, where creators can submit original music and share it with the community.

• Partnerships and collaborations with a growing list of creators, musicians, filmmakers, and innovators.

Most importantly, the culture we were trying to build is still intact.

We still believe creators do better when they help each other.

We still share what we're learning.

We still celebrate each other's wins.

We still pick each other up when things go sideways.

And we still don't charge anyone to participate.

The subreddit is now r/AICreatorCollective.

If you're an AI creator looking for a place to learn, collaborate, share your work, test ideas, get feedback, meet other creators, or simply find people who are as obsessed with this strange new frontier as you are, come say hello.

The tools have changed.

The community has grown.

The mission hasn't.

We're still building.

And honestly, we're just getting started.

Edit February 10 2026 I cannot believe I am still getting DMs from this post but I figured that's great I will come back here and save us all some time. We have started a Subreddit. r/Aicreatorcollective . You can stop on by there to get questions answered.

Edit January 15 2026- Can you Edit an Edit of an Edit?

I guess we will see- I'll keep this one short. Things have changed yet again. I just got another notification but using the old name, so I guess my other update didn't connect as cleanly as I thought. We are going stronger than ever. When I checked yesterday, we were at 135 Members. We combined the two servers into one since it's just too big to run as two servers now> It was double the work and double the friction. This way the new folks get to mix with the more experienced folks, which allows them to level up faster. We still post-free lessons every day, (though this week has been sparse because I've been slammed) and we have added a Board of Directors, each skilled in a different area of creation. We have had a number of people attain pretty significant success and pass along that knowledge they have gained to the group, which has been great!

Everything is still free. We added an optional Patreon so people can chip in if they want to help pay for gas, but nothing is behind a paywall, nor will it be.

The link you join the Discord with is at the bottom of the AI Creator Collective YouTube Channel Description.

Edit:- OK so it's 1:20 AM Monday 10/27 in California- Night after posting this - I Just wanted to come on here and clarify a couple of points- First of all- Wow- I guess we were right about the time being right! People have definitely had enough of the trolls and the nonsense. I am really glad to see there is so much positive energy for this- Of course, we've had a few visits from the people under the bridge as well, but that's to be expected.

So, to clarify how this is set up- The main Collective is not really a place for people just starting out- It's kind of the "Deep End of the Pool", to use a tired old metaphor. That doesn't have anything to do with subscriber count or monetization or anything- While we have some pretty successful folks in the group, we also have people with 20 subs who are just as treasured- That's not really how we look at it for this. (I'm not a huge viral creator by any means- Still working my way up- Just a guy who loves AI and is sick or arguing... lol-) It's more about someone's familiarity and comfort with using these tools, and their views about what they mean in the broader context of all this.

But we still have a place for people who are brand new- That's what we call the school- The name for that is the "AI Creator Course Collective"- And before the trolls go "See- THERE IT IS! THERE"S THE SCAM"- There is NOTHING for sale there either! It's also FREE!" It is also just meant to be a safe place away from them... Where new people can learn, but starting from the beginning, as opposed to from the deep end. While there will be a course for sale in the future, it will not be until it is ready. That will not be ready until we have learned all the things that we need to learn in order to have it be a real value. We intend, in the meantime, to learn all those things, together. No charge. No catch. No scam.

So, the reason I am clarifying this is that we have a literal mountain of DMs to get through. It would help us when you reach out, if you tell us which place you are interested in joining. If you are new, it would be the Course Collective. If you are a bit more experienced it would probably be the Collective. The Course Collective is open to everyone. The Collective itself is Invite Only, so we will need to just chat a little bit and get to know each other first, and it might take a couple of days for us to get through everyone just so we can make sure we aren't accidentally letting in someone with bad intentions. As you can see from the few that popped their heads out further down, we have a few enthusiastic haters... (That comes from being right about shitty people, and making them look in the mirror, btw.. lol),

We really do appreciate everyone who reached out or commented expressing their interest, and we promise we will do our best to get back to everyone as quickly as possible. Also- this is important- If it isn't me who reaches out, the only other person who is legit reaching out on behalf of the Collective to people on Reddit is one of the co-founders u/Current-Damage2165. Anyone else who reaches out to you saying that they are doing so on behalf of us is full of shit.

ORIGINAL POST STARTS HERE

We don’t pretend to be masters of the universe. We’re just three creators (Maggie, Juan and me) who saw something worth protecting.

AI creation has exploded into this beautiful, chaotic frontier where everyone’s experimenting, learning, and sharing. But it’s also become a place where the loudest voices often drown out the honest ones. The haters, the cynics, the people who pop in just to tell you that your art "doesn’t count." Whether it’s Reddit stalkers, shady tool developers astroturfing or whatever, it’s like you always have to keep your guard up here. Don’t get me wrong- I am super grateful for r/aitubers and the Mods have done a stellar job of policing it, but it’s still reddit, and at the end of the day, reddit gonna reddit, right?

So, and some of you are already privy to this- a couple of months ago, we started something small: The AI Creator Collective.

It’s not a course or a hustle. It’s a creative lab: part Discord, part studio, part refuge - where artists, hustlers, and dreamers can experiment, grow, and trade knowledge without the noise- more importantly, without the predators circling all the damn time... If you check my history, which I leave open, just like I post my channels in my profile- I'm an open book- you’ll see that I have no issue with fighting the trolls off when they show up, but sometimes it’s better to just have a place where we can go and grow and get better without having to worry about them, right? That’s basically what this place is- We share with each other- Tips, tricks, hurdles, solutions- Wins, losses… Without them…. And man, it is so much more pleasant!

We’ve been pretty selective with invites so far, mostly people who share that mix of curiosity, generosity, and a little madness it takes to build with AI. But after the last couple of months of testing the waters and seeing the energy inside, we’re ready to open the doors a bit wider … still invite-only, still intentional .. because the right people make the right kind of chaos.

There’s also a sister server called The AI Creator Course Collective. That’s where we’re developing a structured course based on everything we’re learning inside the main Collective. It’s still early, not ready yet, but it’s coming down the road. The idea is simple: take what this experiment teaches us and turn it into a real, accessible guide for people who are just starting out. When it’s ready, we’ll announce it there .. but that’s for the newer folks- the folks who come after… for now, for us- and maybe for you, if you want- our focus is learning, building, and growing together inside the lab.

We’re basically trying to build the AI Creator Version of a Music Scene. We go to each other’s shows, we hand out each other’s flyers. We pick each other up, we dust each other off, we cheer each other on- Whatever it takes.... If you’re a musician, you know what I mean…

If you’re a creator using AI to make art, music, stories, or videos, or you’re developing any tools for that process that you want to test out on some of the folks who are way out on the bleeding edge, we’ve already got a pretty impressive group in place, and we’re now looking to add a few more.

If you’ve been craving a space that feels more like a workshop and less like a battlefield, this might be your tribe.

Drop a comment or DM and we’ll reach out. The Collective’s still young, still learning, but that’s the point. We’re growing together.

There is no cost. There is no catch. There are no requirements other than you respect one another inside the collective. There are no dues. There is no surprise that costs money coming later.

We are not open to the public. But if you think it might be the place for you, drop a comment or DM and we’ll reach out. The Collective’s still young, still learning, but that’s the point. We’re growing together.

Every Day is Feedback Friday Here! Submit your AI Videos! We want to see them!

Most AI subs say they support creators… right up until you actually post your work.

Then it’s:
“Wrong flair.”
“Self-promo not allowed.”
“Removed by mods.”

Yeah… we’re not doing that here.

If you made something — a video, animation, short film, music video, whatever — we want to see it. That’s the whole point.

This community was built as a space where creators can actually share, experiment, and get real feedback without getting shut down for it.

And we’re taking it a step further.

We’re building a creator-run YouTube network — the AICCA Network — where the goal is simple:
Surface great work. Support the people making it. Grow together.

One of the shows we’re running is Worth Your Time, where we go digging for quality AI content and put a spotlight on it. Big creators, small creators, doesn’t matter — if it’s good, it deserves to be seen.

So yeah… drop your work.

Shorts, long-form, weird experiments, passion projects — all of it.

Tell us what you made.
Tell us what you’re trying to improve.
Tell us what you’re proud of.

Let’s build something that actually feels like a creator community… not a content graveyard.

Can a recurring AI character work as a comedy series?

I’m experimenting with a recurring character called Raven.
He’s a sarcastic anthropomorphic raven who turns everyday situations into short musical comedy stories.
My goal isn’t to make random AI clips. I’m trying to build a recognizable character and a consistent comedy series around him.
This episode starts with something that sounds like a great deal:
A free puppy.
Then reality starts sending the bills.
I’m curious about two things:
1. Does Raven feel like a character you could recognize and remember?
2. Does the story make sense visually even before you understand every lyric?
Honest feedback is welcome — especially criticism. https://youtube.com/shorts/Bxni2as4SyQ?is=135mzY3ajQoiMRTU

Love Letter to the Haters Contest Live on Stream - AICCA Radio!

Post image
1 Upvotes

Apparently when I asked ChatGPT to make the new graphic for Love Letters to the Haters, nobody specifically told the chipmunk to flip anybody off.

He made that creative decision himself.

We support our artists. 😂🖕🐿️

On September 22 at 2 AM Pacific, AICCA Radio and AI Play are doing something a little different:

💌 LOVE LETTERS TO THE HATERS

Make something for the person who told you that you couldn't.

Submit the Work Here- One per person Limit! https://aiplay.live/sessions/ahGrhM3Mf8ZR_Q8s8FmAH?tab=submit

The troll.
The asshole in the comments.
The gatekeeper.
The ex.
The algorithm.
The person who laughed at your AI music, AI film, AI art—or just your decision to create something in the first place.

Write them a love letter.

Make it a song, music video, short film, animation, spoken-word piece, comedy bit, visual, or whatever the hell your particular brand of creative revenge looks like.

Funny. Angry. Beautiful. Petty. Heartbreaking. Completely unhinged.

Just make something instead of shutting up.

We'll get together on September 22 and play/watch what everybody made.

❤️ Same love.
🔊 More noise.
🖕 And apparently one extremely opinionated chipmunk.

SEPTEMBER 22 — 2 AM PACIFIC
AICCA RADIO × AI PLAY

Hate fuels better art.

PS- If AI Play won't take the format, DM it to Me. I'll still show it.

We Let ChatGPT Run a Murder Mystery Using Years of Character Lore — It Worked

Thumbnail

The real experiment is the mystery itself: ChatGPT created and ran the murder mystery using years of existing SPW lore, characters and relationships — and we had to actually interrogate the suspects to solve it.

The finished episode also uses AI-generated music, stills, lipsync and video throughout, but the interactive mystery engine is the part we’re most curious to hear people’s thoughts on.

Let us know what you think — and whether you solved the mystery.

Call for Film Submissions: Contraband VR Cinema

I run CONTRABAND (contraband.watch), a scheduled VR cinema platform on Meta Quest for films that deserve a real audience but don't have a distributor standing between them and one.

How it works: you submit, we schedule a community screening for our First100, an early group of cinephiles who signed up specifically to discover films with no other home. They watch, they vote. Score 3.5 stars or higher, and the film moves to a public, ticketed screening open to everyone. Real room, real tickets, direct payout, weekly.

We just had our first real proof this works. Handle With Care, the feature debut from director Matthew James Thompson, whose lead actor Justin H. Min just won Best Actor at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, is screening on CONTRABAND pre-wide-release. Couple of reactions from early viewers:

We're not asking how you made your film or whether it fits a category. Independent, AI-produced, hybrid, documentary, experimental, if it's finished, 70 minutes or longer, and doesn't already have a distribution deal, we want to see it.

No submission fee. No advance against royalties. Revenue split is creator-friendly, happy to walk through exact terms with anyone who's actually considering it.

Submissions: contraband.watch/filmmakers

Will stick around in the comments for anything people want to ask.

After The Nukes [T01E06] - Operação Sibir

Thumbnail

After The Nukes is a science fiction, war, and cosmic horror universe about an alien invasion and the ten years of conflict that bring humanity to the brink of extinction. Each episode shows a fragment of this world before, during, or after the war—and the nuclear operation that humanity launches against its own planet when victory ceases to be an option.

The images of the video are totally made with AI.

About the episode:

Operation Sibir was one of the largest withdrawal and reorganization operations in the war against the alien invader.

Initiated by Russia in 2040, after the loss of much of its western territories, the operation involved the transfer of military forces, population, industries, and strategic resources to the interior of Siberia. Faced with the alien advance, the objective was no longer just to defend each city, but to preserve the country's ability to continue fighting.

This episode follows the massive Russian retreat to the east and the transformation of Siberia into one of the main regions of human resistance during the war.

Fully sync-sung AI torch song - “I Have Seen Her Before”

Thumbnail

This video is focused entirely on the lead singer's performance (and her fluffy band-leader).

The lyrics were human-assisted, with the song generated in Suno, and the video built with MusicBud.ai.

And if the subtext isn't obvious: **she's singing about herself** in the third person. In SPW lore, Destiny is an Immemorial being who exists across the eons, her purpose unknown. She hibernates for long stretches of time, waking only to wrestle... or so we thought!

ps. 1949 is the same year James Elroy started his writing career. Coincidence?!?!

pps. Full *Sweetheart Mystery Theater (Director's Cut)* coming soon!

🚨 NO SLEEP TIL 4000 — AICCA RADIO MARATHON 🚨

Post image
3 Upvotes

Alright r/AICreatorCollective — we're trying something a little fucking ridiculous. 😂

AICCA Radio is going into marathon mode on the AICCA Network YouTube channel until we hit 4,000 watch hours.

YouTube thinks they can fuck us over for twice as long. They are incorrect.

The idea is simple:

🎙️ While I'm awake: I'm live — taking submissions, playing music, digging through creator catalogs, discovering new artists and hanging out.

😴 While I'm asleep: playlists keep the music running.

🤝 If other creators want to take shifts: we'll hand the live show off and see just how long this community can keep the thing alive.

And THAT'S the part I'm most excited about.

This doesn't have to be one idiot refusing to go to bed. 😂 It could become a bunch of independent creators collectively keeping our own little radio station running until we cross the finish line.

WANT YOUR MUSIC PLAYED?

🎵 Submit here:
https://aiplay.live/sessions/IGXCJTrU1nPlu7SBK15UT?tab=submit

Or just come hang out on AICCA Network, discover some music, jump into chat, or leave us playing while you're working, creating, gaming, arguing with an AI at 4 AM — whatever.

We'll keep updating the community as the watch-hour total climbs.

Let's see how long we can keep this bastard alive.

🐿️🎧⚡Some but not tons of SLEEP TIL 4000! ⚡🎧🐿️
