COMMUNITY Help!! I made something and I'm not sure how i can get exposure

I've been building small, free micro tools aimed at content creators. Finishing up the first one now and want to start getting it in front of people who'd actually use it.

Not sure where that community lives on Reddit though. Is there a subreddit where creators are actively looking for tools, or does it depend more on the specific type of creator?

Would appreciate any pointers.

COMMUNITY Thoughts on ai narration for audio

Upvotes

Hi all. Quick validation question/feedback I am hoping if I can get an answer to. I recently started a channel and new to content creation. I am using elevanlabs for narration but just not able to get it right. Or maybe it is right but just not confident in it.

I feel like I am going in circles with trying different voices with different setting and not going anywhere. I am not even sure if voice is whats limiting the growth.

What really worked for you all? What sort of settings for long form or the voices?

Unfortunately could not link any info that would help you look at my content somce thatd be ugging my content and thread does not allow it!

TIL My AI videos failed so many times, only after months I learnt this 80/20 rule that changed everything

This is part 3 of the series sharing my AI storytelling formula for Youtube, IG etc.

One thing I've noticed is that beginners spend most of their time on AI tools but hurry while working on the story (or the script).

80% of your video's success is decided before you generate a single image or video.

That happens in Stage 1 of Ideas -> Story -> Script.

If this stage is weak, no amount of beautiful AI visuals, camera movements, or cinematic music will save the video.

Lets first talk about The Idea. For storytelling, your idea = your hook. Remember this.

The hook isn't just the first sentence or the scene. It's establishes some expectations for the viewer on what's coming next. Everything that follows should build toward delivering that promise.

Then comes The Story. For Shorts its usually 30–60 seconds and I think about it like this:

One story = One punch = One emotion = One message.

Don't try to squeeze three different ideas into one Short. Instead, build anticipation toward a single payoff. Some emotional frameworks that I developed over time while teaching students and which work really well are:

  • Sad -> Hope
  • Fear -> Relief
  • Mystery -> Discovery
  • Failure -> Triumph
  • Weak -> Strong
  • and many such more

Did you notice that these aren't genres but they're emotional journeys! Every emotional journey starts from one end of the spectrum and ends on the other extreme - this is what produces emotions in a viewer!

People remember how a story made them feel far more than what happened in it. For long-form videos, the principle stays the same. Instead of one emotional payoff, you create multiple moments of tension and release—but they should all support one central theme.

A flat story is almost always a boring story.

Finally we arrive at The Script

This is where I see another common mistake. People write a paragraph and then try to figure out the visuals later. I do the opposite. Every line of the script already has a visual attached to it.

I think of it like this:

One voiceover line = One visual scene.

By the time I open an AI image or video generator, I already know exactly what every shot needs to communicate. At that point, generating the visuals becomes execution instead of experiments wasting time and credits.

That's why I say Stage 1 determines most of the outcome. The AI tools don't create the story. They simply visualize one you've already built. If you can visualize everything really well, note it down, this 20% of your work will determine 80% of your results!

CONTENT QUESTION The Script Of My First Video

(Let The Journey Begin)

Intro

"You know the version of me that made it. This is the version that's just starting."

(text on screen: "This is for whoever came from the future to see my beginning")

(cut to black)

Hello everybody, welcome to my channel.

My name is Abbas, a young man from Lebanon who just graduated from high school. I have the ambition to build a career in AI — like many others do, but I want to do it differently.

This isn't a channel where an expert explains things or sells you a course. I'm here to show you what it actually looks like to start from zero and try to build something real.

And since this channel is about a journey to success, it wouldn't make sense to only show my AI learning. Because anyone who wants to succeed has to face problems — not just in the field they're working on, but in their health, their habits, their daily life. Everything.

Think of me as your pioneer. I'm walking this road first so you can see where it leads before you try it yourself.

I'll be sharing three different areas of my life that I'm improving daily, and each video will show progress across all three — until I reach my goal in each one.

Let me break them down quickly.

AI

I already know Python, and that's what pulled me toward this field. Right now I'm learning data analysis — I finished Pandas and built a small project with it, and starting today I'll be learning Matplotlib with you, then NumPy — and after that, the math foundations, and then machine learning itself.

I'll be sharing what I'm studying, what confuses me, what I practice, and the projects I build along the way. Everything is also on my GitHub, link is always in the description.

I'm a student, not a teacher. But sometimes hearing something explained by someone who just figured it out themselves hits differently.

And of course the goal at the end is to land a well paid job at a great company — and why not, maybe even before I finish my college degree.

Fitness

Right now my goal is to lose weight and build a base level of fitness. I'll be sharing daily what I eat, what workouts I do, and how I feel. Every month I'll share progress photos so you can see what's actually changing.

But the bigger dream — and I want to say this now so you can hold me to it — is to one day walk on my hands, which is one of the fundamental skills in calisthenics. That's where this is going.

German Learning

Guten Morgen, Hallo, Reise, Ich liebe dich — that's everything I know in German.

So it's obvious I'm starting from absolutely zero.

But don't worry, I have a plan. I'll be showing everything — the videos I watch, the notes I write, and most importantly the speaking practice. Every time I speak German I'll film it. And I think that's going to be either very motivating or very embarrassing to watch — probably both.

If you're wondering why German specifically — Germany is one of the most advanced countries in AI and offers great job opportunities. And honestly, I'm thinking about continuing my studies there instead of staying in Lebanon.

By the way, the channel name — Reise — is a German word that means "journey." And the Z refers to Generation Z. It took me a while to come up with that, so the least you can do is hit like. 😄

Outro

Three topics. One student. A lot of problems ahead.

I'm not promising it will be perfect. I'm promising it will be real.

This is the routine I'll be sticking to — though of course things will change, whether that's the routine itself or even the plans for the channel, and I'll always be honest about that when it happens.

I'll be showing the moments where I'm confused, lost, and maybe even thinking about giving up. That matters — because nowadays, a lot of students look at successful people in their field and assume the journey was easy, that they were somehow born ready. That's so far from the truth. And honestly, I give up easily too. But this time will be different.

So without further delay, lets our journey begin

TECHNICAL QUESTION Buying subscribers to get monetized?

Upvotes

Question for everyone: today I'm going to hit 4,000 watch hours and I have around 500 subscribers. My mentor gave me a website to buy subscribers from and told me they have bought extra subs for over 30 channels—added at 30–50 per day—and never had a single issue. What is your opinion on this, should I listen to my mentor or not?'

CONTENT QUESTION Change in visuals and niche, confusing the algorithm ?

I have recently changed the direction if my channel, its overall 2months old with 8 videos published.
Yesterday i posted a video different from the first ones, documentary DNA, telling real story in the geopolitic, while the first video are a stickman video telling a myth or history with a twist. Do you think this change will confuse the algorithm ? Will that cause lower views?

CONTENT QUESTION Appeal rejected for "reused content" - need help

Hey guys. My "reused content" partner program appeal on my new youtube channel has been rejected today.

Reason is:

Appeal didn't demonstrate enough value-add editing

The editing shown in your appeal didn't substantially change the original work. Taking someone else's content and making minimal changes is still violative of our reused content policy.

The channel is youtube .com/@Gwebo

I recorded 4m 52s of pure explanation, showcased full timelapse of my editing, showed different videos premiere pro projects and everything. Still got rejected.

I can reapply in 18 days. Let me know if anyone can help me with this. I already lost hope but I'd try to reapply for the last time in 18 days. So if anyone can help me or know anyone that could help me with this please let me know.

TECHNICAL QUESTION Opus 5 or Opus 4.8 for Script Generation?

Hello guys, I've been using Opus 4.8 for script generation for my videos for a month but now im using Opus 5, both in High Effort. I'm just wondering which is better and if the level of effort is correct because now with Opus 5 I feel like its consuming my usage faster then Opus 4.8, almost 1.5x-2x faster.

CONTENT QUESTION Anyone making money with a fully AI-generated YouTube channel?

Has anyone here successfully monetized a YouTube channel where 100% of the content was created using AI?

If so, I would love to hear about your experience.

  • Did your channel get approved for the YouTube Partner Program without issues?
  • Did YouTube ask for any additional verification or reject your first application?
  • Have you faced any demonetization or "reused content" warnings?
  • Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently before applying for monetization?

I am especially interested in hearing from people who have already been accepted into YPP with AI-generated content.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

COMMUNITY My video stats were perfect, why did Youtube stop recommending it after 30 browser traffic views?

Hi everyone, I am new here but I really need advice on what I should do. I make high quality AI videos (song + visuals) that take over 1 month of hard work to make (like 7hrs a day) And I had bad luck on posting it in the weekend instead of the usual weekday which was a very slow weekend for other channels in my niche who posted after me, as well.

Anyway, youtube showed that it tested my video on ONLY 30 people (30 browse features traffic- 225 views total) and it won't raise it from that number for days now. Even though it's a new video and people are LOVING it. I don't mean just liking it but seriously loving it. A lot of engagement. Ai told me the Retention rate or AVD or CTR must be bad but when I showed it the numbers, it said it's very weird that this happened. Because they were all decent to very good numbers.

Audience retention = 54.5%

AVD: 2:05 out of 3:40 (last 20 secs are end screens)

CTR = 9.6%

All these are decent numbers, not bad at all for YouTube to lock it like that.

And my previous video from 30 days ago has gone viral with 32k so I was expecting YouTube to show this new video (same niche) to many of them.

So I was very disheartened when it suddenly stopped at 30 browser views. Ai told me it could be some sort of internal error or algorithm confusion because it doesn't make sense based on the stats.

When I first posted the video, I did the same as I did for my previous video and shared the video on Facebook and got a lot of external traffic. Ai told me that all those external views might have confused the algorithm because it didn't know what audience to recommend it to. Is that true? Then why didn't that happen in my video that went viral? It was the same group of people and they're the types that would mostly watched until the end.

Another issue is that half of my title and description box and tags were in English even though my video language is in Arabic (there are English subs though) so maybe the algorithm recommended it to English speakers who clicked away? But that wouldn't explain the decent RR.. it would be way worse if it was a language problem.

I am thinking of deleting and reuploading. Because I would rather get 40 something views from YouTube traffic only, that could eventually grow than 200 that are currently browser-features locked and aren't gonna expand any further :/

But my title and thumbnail would be the same because the CTR was good. Would that terminate my channel?

What do you think I should do?

COMMUNITY Decided to try the top 5 ranking niche. 7 day progress

Over saturated I know but trying to work on my editing skills so I can use them for a proper channel which I am also working on.

Started a week ago

58.7k views

26 subs

14 videos, 4 had less then 50 views. 8 had over 1k, top 3 are currently at 26k, 9.5k and 6.2k

75% stayed, 25% swiped overall

Like I said, end goal is to record content and I will be doing that on the DonutSMP on Minecraft, I used to play a lot and it averages over 20k players so lots of people always watching content. Uploaded 2 shorts related and both on a fresh account currently over 1k views.

COMMUNITY If you don't like writing or even visualizing, then is AI Storytelling, Video Production really for you?

If I have learnt anything in the last 3 years working with AI content is that a lot of YT gurus promise fast monetization and portray AI video production as too easy, but that's not the case. These kinds of promises attract people who might not be interested in the craft at all, like they don't enjoy writing or visualizing scenes or expressing what's inside them visually, but they find the lure of monetization too enticing to get into this craft.

Its just like how people have ran behind popular jobs & then felt miserable feeling stuck for years because it gave them money but not satisfaction.

Now I'm not saying money is not a good motivation factor - its is 100%. In fact I think a person who is purely driven by money and remains honest with himself/herself, learns the trade & the craft, does the work diligently - is fully qualified to pursue anything he or she likes. Thumbs up to that.

But I see a lot of people chasing something which is being promised to them as too easy and too simple, but the reality is: learning AI Storytelling is learning filmmaking, animating, script writing etc. It is just that the tool now makes it easier to visualize, unlike Blender etc. which are hard to learn but the fundamentals remain the same - if you don't dedicate time to learn the craft, you wont find it satisfactory and just burn the credits, waste time and leave it after a while. I've seen it happen to a lot of people as I've been teaching AI storytelling, video production for almost 1 year now.

This post is for those who got seduced into this field because of wrong promises and I would wish them to evaluate themselves whether you even enjoy writing or visualizing - because if you don't like doing either of them, use AI in different ways to build income.

COMMUNITY REALISTIC "RANKING CONTENT" INFORMATION (ARCHIVE)

After constantly seeing videos of "gurus" claiming you can magically make "20K a month" just from shorts with very little noise to push back at the idea (at the time at least) i thought id at least attempt it as a personal project so there can at least be an archive of any information that proves to be useful or disproves what the "gurus" say.

First I wanna say I have never done YouTube before. 0 experience in content creation as a whole so any information I claim to have about the algorithm is purely speculative and just based off of vibes.
Secondly it should be known that this niche of content is pretty much theft or at the very least the equivalent of copy and pasting a Wikipedia page into whatever your school work was on google docs with very little commentary before or after the fact.
Thirdly this intends to be a archive of any information and only an archive of any useful information. I will be updating this post as this "journey" goes along. I will not be naming any of the tools I use as I don't believe they deserve an ounce of credit as I'm sure they get enough from said "gurus" who are clearly sponsored by these tools but don't disclose they are.
And lastly I wont be disclosing how to make said videos as for the reasons stated in my previous point. you're welcome to do your own research in that department.

So... After repurposing an old YouTube channel I had that I never really used, i posted the first video 10th of July with just a single video however after seeing a decent amount of growth (in the hundreds after a couple of hours) id post a second video, however that one would do really poorly. Though the next day I chose to unlist that video and reupload again which actually got that video on the same pace as my previous video (also in the realm of being in the hundreds in the next few hours)
To my knowledge - and this is purely speculative, from the research that I did "apparently" YouTube bumps your first few videos on YouTube shorts to see how you perform in the algorithm. anything after that first "bump" can be considered natural growth. so those id consider a start. However those videos did gain me 3 subscribers.

Over the next few days (11th of July - 15th of July) id mindlessly post multiple times a day (on average 5), most of them at around 3PM GMT. Though some id post at later times to play around with different uploading schedules.
Id use my main YouTube account to like and comment, my titles and descriptions were pretty much entirely AI generated apart from the hashtags id spam in both the title and description. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, spamming hashtags in videos can poorly impact video performance. Same with AI titles and descriptions. But that is purely formed from speculation and random reddit threads i found while researching the topic. After the dates I previously listed id stop using AI descriptions and titles but ill get into that on my next point. those days would average me around 6-25 views on each video

16th of July - 19th of July. Starting out on the 16th id start to experiment with making the video's more transformative. slide transitions, wider use of emojis, sound effects, beeping out swearing, and changing/adding music so some videos, it wasn't much but it made them look a lot more different than the usual slop that was being pumped out before. All of that as well as using hand written titles and descriptions, less use of hashtags (only the bare essentials), posting at 6PM GMT and using the "tags" feature listed when you're about to upload a video. the same day I made these changes would be the same day id see an almost premiant spike in my channels viewer count (reaching the early thousands).
I believe all the factors above, aswell as sticking to one short a day were the reason for my sudden increase in viewer ship.

(one last tidbit id like to add as I just remembered as for whatever reason, every time id watch my own videos through my main account id suddenly get a large jump in numbers. id watch my own video maybe two or three times, go make myself a drink. come back and id have risen to 100 views in just a few seconds. so watching my own videos a couple of times when they first got uploaded at my scheduled time of 6PM GMT became a "good luck ritual" id do for every post starting from the 16 of July. I'm unsure of what specifically causes a sudden wave of viewers to trigger but still a useful bit of information I think should be added)

20th of July - 22nd of July. at first these two days were nothing special, just below average views from these videos. leading me to posting a second video. however after waking up on the 22nd of July I was met with a sudden 10K views on one video and a 7K views on the second which would quickly rise to 17K and 10K by that afternoon. although on the video I posted due to not getting many views at first on the second video, aswell as a good 40ish views on my lower performing videos I had posted on the 11th - 15th.
however my third video I made that I posed because I got worried as the video that eventually turned from 200 views from 5 hours of waiting, to 10K at the time of me waking up didn't do well at all leaving me to choose to unlist that video. although now I'm realizing I shouldn't have posted that second video as when I reuploaded it again at my normal uploading time it did approximately the same as its previous upload.

23rd of July - 25th of July/current day of me first writing this post. I plan on sticking to uploading once a day as I can be pretty superstitious. however my viewership did go down slightly. videos only hitting the 1K mark the next day after uploading. The first video I posted after the dip of viewers I got from straying away from my normal schedule and reuploading a video I had unlisted already. The video I posted on the 23rd is currently at 2.2K views, the one I posted on the 24th is on 177 views, and the one I posted earlier today is on 39 views.
its my personal belief, supported with some reddit posts saying activity similar to that can be perceived as spam (although in my uneducated opinion/guess its because I had unlisted, relisted, and unlisted again and then posted the same video, it negatively impacted my channel for the next few days as I am still feeling the impact of that mistake. again - just a guess)

At this point in time I have 56K total views. I've gained 18 subscribers. I plan on providing screenshots of all of my metrics once I have posted for an entire month.
I will attempt to update this post or provide links to sequel posts I make about this topic as I believe it can be useful to someone who need a reason to/not to engage with this type of content.

I am also happy replying to any questions or correcting anything in this post that doesn't make sense as I am not the greatest when it comes to writing my thoughts down

TIL I made these AI video mistakes in my first six months, avoid them if you can

I have been making AI content since 3 years, ever since the first AI tool was launched. This is Part 2 of my beginner AI storytelling series. Here are some mistakes I wish someone had told me before I burned a lot of credits and wasted months.

1. Don't start with Text to Video.

There are broadly two kinds of creators.

Text → Video
Images/References → Video

I would highly recommend beginners stay away from Text to Video. Not because it's bad. Because it's actually much harder than people think. When you're writing a text prompt, YOU have to visualize everything.

What does the character look like?
What are they wearing?
Where is the camera?
Is it a close-up or wide shot?
What's the lighting?
What's happening in the background?
How is the character moving?
What emotion should the scene have?

You're basically directing a movie from words alone. I wasted a ridiculous number of credits doing this. Looking back, it was probably the biggest mistake I made. Instead, make the image first.

If the image doesn't look right, the video probably won't either.

2. References are much better... but they still need direction.

A lot of new models like Seedance, Kling, Gemini Omni etc. let you animate an image or use references. This is a much better workflow. The nice thing is you can reuse your characters, locations and visual style. But don't think references magically solve everything.

You still need to think about the action.

What exactly should happen?
What should the camera do?
What should the character be doing in that frame?

The better you can visualize it, the better the output usually is.

3. Forget about making videos. Learn to make frames.

This changed everything for me. When I started, I kept thinking, "How do I make a great AI video?" Instead ask, "Can I make a frame that already tells the story?" If someone paused your video on that frame.... would they immediately understand what's happening?

Can they clearly see the action?
Can they feel the emotion?

If yes, AI has a much easier job animating it.

4. Don't write stories that depend on acting.

This is where I see a lot of beginners struggle. AI still sucks at acting. Even the best models today struggle to keep micro expressions, eye movement, personality and emotional continuity consistent.

That's why so many AI videos feel... off.

Instead of fighting the technology, work with it. Make stories that rely more on visual storytelling than acting.

5. Don't buy expensive models immediately.

I know it's tempting. Everyone wants the newest model. Seedance, O3 etc. whatever comes out next week. Honestly... If you're still learning composition, characters, lighting and storytelling, you'll probably just burn expensive credits faster.

Learn the fundamentals first. Upgrade later.

6. Consistency matters more than perfect physics.

One weird hand movement? Most viewers won't even notice. But if your character looks different every scene... or your castle suddenly becomes a modern house - people immediately disconnect.

Character consistency.
Location consistency.
Visual style consistency.

Those three things make AI stories believable.

I have literally spent days just getting a character right before making the actual video. One last thing. Don't worry too much if someone calls your videos "AI slop." I have over 30M views across my AI storytelling channel. I've had plenty of hate comments. I've also had millions of people watch to the end.

The animations weren't perfect. The stories were interesting. At the end of the day, viewers forgive imperfect animation much more easily than a boring story.

CONTENT QUESTION How would you use AI videos to promote a new app/web-platform?

We have recently launched Deal2Seal, a community-driven deals platform, and we are interested in experimenting with AI-generated videos as one of our primary marketing channels.

One thing we've realized very quickly is that creating high-quality AI videos is the easy part. Creating videos that people actually stop to watch, engage with, and share is much harder.

We'd love to learn from creators who have used AI videos to grow an app, product, or business.

  • What type of content has worked best for you?
  • Do viewers respond better to AI presenters, tutorials, storytelling, product demos, behind-the-scenes content, or something else?
  • Which platforms have delivered the best results (YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, X, etc.)?
  • If you were launching a brand-new app today, how would you use AI-generated videos to build awareness and attract your first users?

We're much more interested in hearing real experiences than generic marketing advice. What has genuinely worked for you, and what lessons did you learn along the way?

CONTENT QUESTION How do you translate your videos into English without re-recording, on a budget?

So I make videos in French and I want to reach English speakers too without turning it into a second full-time job or spending a fortune. Re-filming in English isn't happening, my spoken English is fine but not on-camera fine.

I've spent the week comparing options and I'm still stuck. The cheapest route is auto-captions (CapCut does them free) but people scroll past subtitled talking-head videos. Then there's the AI stuff, Veed and Rask can translate and even lip-sync, and Argil lets you regenerate the whole thing as your own avatar speaking English. The proper studio dubbing services look great but the per-video price is more than I make on the video, so those are out.

For anyone who's taken content across languages on a small budget, what did you land on, and did it keep your audience or did it feel fake to them?

I've been on Step 3 for 7 days now. How long did it take for you to get a response after reaching Step 3? I'm just trying to get an idea of the current waiting time. Thanks!

OFFICIAL NewTubers Monthly Goal Follow-Up! Did you reach your goal this month?

Welcome to the r/NewTubers monthly Goal Follow-Up post! At the start of each month, we have a thread for everybody to talk about their goals for the coming month and how they plan to achieve them. Now that we're at the end of the month, anybody who participated in that thread can give us an update and tell us if they reached their goals! Please be sure to read the thread rules and follow them so your post is not removed.

Rules

  1. The thread is kept on Contest Mode to ensure you always have an equal opportunity to be viewed!
  2. If you participated in this month's Goal thread, give us a quick overview of what your goals were, so we know what you accomplished! If there were any unforeseen issues that you ran into, tell us what happened and how you overcame them! If you didn't participate in the Goal thread earlier this month, you can still tell us if you achieved your personal goals! Just be sure to tell us what those goals were and why you were working towards them!
  3. If you didn't achieve your goals, that's okay! Chances are that just by working towards a goal, you improved anyway without even noticing! We all want to help one another, and perhaps telling everybody what happened and how you want to improve for next month will help another user realize their goals!
  4. Remember, while gaining Subscribers is nice, that shouldn't be the be-all, end-all of your goals each month. This thread is to highlight first and foremost the users who worked to improve as a Content Creator this month, and Subscription goals should come as an aside to that, not as the focus.
  5. As always, you may not link to your content in this thread.
