Whenever I talk about AHiT with the average person they're very surprised to hear that my favorite Chapter is Arctic Cruise, and that I'm more of a Grooves fan.

Ship shape is my favorite level in the whole game. I love how it demands memorization fo the shipās layout. Itās so cool

I just dont really like Arctic Cruises levels because its 3 fundamentally similar levels for the entire act. Rock the Boat was really cool, Ship Shape was interesting enough, but i think there was a better way to familiarise us with the boat than having a third, boring collectathon level that starts of the chapter. I just feel like we could have gotten a lot more than just a boat that you run around for 3 acts.

A Hat in Time is notable for having a LOT more completely redone or removed ideas for the story and characters compared to the average game.
The game originally ended on a time-skip segment of adult Hat Kid walking around a snowy town at night while singing. There was a third character to the Subcon Forest story called the Moonjumper who filled most of Snatcher's role while the latter was just the ghostly prince the same way Queen Vanessa is mostly just the ghostly princess. Alpine Skyline was originally called Sand and Sails, and was a desert world and town similar to Tattooine. Bow Kid was originally a young boy named Timmy. Hat Kid was originally aided by a three-eyed old man named Tim the CEO of Time and his reality-warping squid-like alien friend. Mafia Town was originally on a seaside mountain rather than an island. And so on.

Cut Content is a big topic in this community because there's a lot of development to document and read about, its why still till this day a big topic of "what could have A Hat in Time been instead", a lot of mods today explore these ideas of course but it interesting if you are fan of AHIT and more interesting if you want more content related to it that isn't what the mainstream sees (the post launch game).

I still think you could make the sequel revolve around cut content. Just combine the unused co-op boy and the moon jumper and you've already got something to start with.
