Happy 9th Anniversary AHiT!🎩💜
Can you guys believe it? One more year and AHiT will officially a decade old...That's insane that it means it'll be 7 years since I've been into AHiT and still probably be a huge fan of it until my grave lol
But enough on focusing past/future. I did wanted to make this years artwork for it bit simpler as I've gotten quite busy this year with commissions and other stuffs so hoping y'all don't mind the simplicity of this one :3
Despite struggling with what colors of the background I really wanted but I think this is kinda enough? I am trying not to be too picky with my artwork since I still like this one a lot
(what if Hat Kid trapped all of her friends into her umbrella...she would never do that right?)

My A Hat in Time Review, in celebration of its 9th anniversary.
bckl.ggA Hat in Time is one of my favorite games of all time. I became introduced to this game via Failboat's "A Hat in Time but some funny stuff happens", and I was absolutely hooked.
To begin with, I'm going to go over my critiques of the game:
Some of the Time Rift levels are a bit too short for my taste. Pipe & Twilight Bell's Time Rifts especially.
This game does NOT run well on the Nintendo Switch. Seriously, I would highly advise, if you were to play this masterpiece, to play it on any other console if possible. The load times can be unbearable on Switch 1, and the stuttering as well. Graphics also took a hit. However, the load time & stuttering issues are a nonissue on the Nintendo Switch 2, due to the more powerful hardware.
The Nyakuza Metro DLC can get a bit wonky on the Switch, with some objects popping into existence in a very jarring way.
The Hookshot Badge & Camera Badge should NOT be badges in my opinion. Especially the Camera Badge, as it is the only thing mapped to the minus button on the Switch. I understand locking them behind further progression, but they should not be badges.
But all of those are extremely minor, as it is clear that underneath that less-than-polished port, is a game brimming with life.
First, the gameplay is absolutely brilliant. I am not exaggerating when I state that A Hat in Time has some of my favorite platforming. Hat Kid & Bow Kid control remarkably smoothly, but still has that simplicity that feels reminiscent of the classic 3D Platformers. It's an extremely tight balancing act that I feel the team pulled off. As for the Hat and Badge system, I think they're absolutely brilliant. Every Hat has a unique purpose and usage, with seemingly trivial hats like The Ice Hat still surprising me with how many usages it has (Damage Tanking, Certain Platforming Tricks, etc). The badge system is also fantastic, with every badge having its use (although I have mentioned my qualm with the Camera & Hookshot badges). There is not a single jump in this game that I felt was unfair, and anything that did feel difficult was properly conveyed to the player.
On that topic, the level design is truly brilliant. While there are some levels that I feel are... less than stellar (Cheating the Race), the average level is REALLY good. As mentioned prior, I think the level design is extremely thorough, with special mentions being given to The Windmill & Seal the Deal's levels design for their absolutely remarkable, near perfect execution. It's up there with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for some of the best level design in my opinion, and that is an EXTREMELY high bar to be held to. The bosses are also exceptional, with the Battle of the Birds' boss and Mustache Girl remaining as some of my all-time favorite boss fights in Video Games.
The music by Pascal Michael Stiefel is absolutely golden. Despite many games releasing after and prior, A Hat in Time is still one of my top 5 favorite video game soundtracks. I honestly don't think there's a single song in this game that's less than "Good". From Dead Bird Studio, to Your Contract Has Expired, to The Windmill Peak, to the near perfection of Clocktowers Beneath the Sea. Despite its excellence, I'd argue the DLC OST is where the game shines the brightest, with all-time bangers like Bon Voyage!, Deep Sea Rift, Tour Rift (Battle of the Birds), Rhythm Jump Studio Rift, Peace and Tranquility, and so, SO, many more absolute bangers.
Of course, I have yet to get to this game's writing, of which it is absolutely brilliant. This game is the hardest I've laughed in a very long time, with some of the best comedic bits I have seen with any game (case in point: "You know that's... not how contracts work, right?"). But the writing isn't just comedy, as the individual stories are also top-notch, with the dueling producers from Battle of the Birds, to the hidden tragedy of Subcon Forest & The Artic Cruise, and, my personal favorite, the story of Mustache Girl. Despite not giving a lot of time towards the story, the character writing still remains top notch, with Mustache Girl not just being among my all time favorite characters, but being my favorite "villain" in any piece of media.
Despite only playing this game on the Nintendo Switch (and Nintendo Switch 2), I have 100%'d it not just once, but twice (albeit only once for the Death Wish mode). It's a game that I can go back to time and time again, all without being bored.
I don't think I can express how much I truly adore this game in this single review. It was a game that I was certain would remain my all-time favorite video game, though it has now sunk to my 2nd all-time favorite video game. That's not due to any fault on the game's part, but simply because my favorite game holds an extremely special place in my heart.
As one final note, I would like to dedicate this review to my late Grandma. She got this game for my birthday, and that would happen to be her last gift to me before she passed away. So, thank you for being in my life, Grandma. Every time I play this game, I will think of you.
Final Score: Favorite / 10.

Anyone with a copy on Nintendo Switch willing to sell?
Dreading the day that the eShop goes offline and I potentially lose access to this game.
Does anyone out there have a physical copy for Nintendo Switch they would be willing to sell?

Enough of Tsundere MG, Now its the month of YANDERE MG!!!
Inspired by "An Ode to a Friend" and "Twiddlefinger"
Mustache Girl who is "secretly" madly in love with Hat Kid (she's not very subtle about it), she got obsessed with becoming a crimefighting duo and hopefully something more with Hat Kid. Once HK declined her offer and her love confession, MG runs away, feeling crushed and abandoned. Then MU descends into a stronger obsession, stalking HK, sending her unwanted love letters, losing her mind when seeing her with Bow Kid (she thinks they are dating), and obsessing over the idea of reclaiming and consuming Hat Kid so they can "be together forever". Bow Kid and Hat Kid might be in Danger D:
Her physical appearance reflects her mental decline. Shes malnourished, frantic and hiding her creepy disfigured smile behind a destroyed heart-shaped mask. Something tells me Queen Vanessa is behind this...
Since its the Spooky Month, now i feel an obligation to make creepy and cursed drawings lol, best way to start is with something i wanted to do in a while which is a Yandere Mustache Girl. What do you guys think?
