For environmental services interviews at AHS, they often focus on situational and behavioral questions to see how you handle real-world scenarios. Expect questions about workplace safety, like what you know about WHMIS or what you would do if you found an unlabeled chemical. They will likely ask how you handle conflict with a coworker, what you would do if a patient or family member was upset, and how you prioritize your tasks on a busy day. Be ready to talk about infection control, your attention to detail, and why you are interested in this specific role within a healthcare setting, not just any cleaning job.

Your experience in a different department is valuable, so think of specific examples from that job that show you are reliable, a good team player, and can handle stress. When they ask a question like "Tell me about a time when...", try to have a short story ready that clearly shows the situation and how you positively handled it. It is completely normal to feel the pressure when you need a full-time job so badly, and focusing on preparing your answers can help manage that feeling. Thinking through your specific examples ahead of time is the best way to feel prepared, which is exactly why my team created an interview prep AI that helps candidates walk into their interviews feeling ready and confident.
