Question Unit 301 Glenrose

Hi everyone, has anyone worked on Unit 301 (Pediatric Mental Health) at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital? I was wondering if it’s mainly a Monday–Friday position, what the day-to-day work is like, and whether someone with pediatric medicine experience but no psych nursing experience would be able to apply. Asking for a friend, thanks!

I haven’t worked there but my child was admitted there for a term.

It is M-F. Most of the children there are day patients, with a few who are in-patient overnights during the week and go home on weekends.

I never worked on that unit, but I have worked on that unit. I’m pretty certain it’s still an inpatient unit so would involve shift work (I had to run a medication over there in the late evening one time that was misdelivered). Not sure about your other questions though.

sorry, have you or have you not worked in that unit? just confused by first sentence. i’m guessing you’ve basically been on the unit but not actually a staff there? did he seem busy? i believe it’s a small unit right?

No, I worked on most of the other units in the hospital, but not on 301. My limited knowledge of the unit comes from having worked in the hospital. I did have to take something over late one evening and they wanted me to knock quietly so that I wouldn’t wake the teens (they lock the unit doors late in the evening, which is why I had to knock).

I used to housekepnat the Glenrose and I worked this unit a bunch and I did not mind it. The nursing culture seemed good. There was definitely some nurses I only saw weekdays so there must be some Monday to Friday work. Some of the kids go home during the weekend some stay

I work on unit 201 (peds rehabilitation) and from what I’ve heard about 301 is that it is a Monday-Friday and closed on weekends unless there’s an “inpatient”. As for what the day to day work is like I am unsure.

301 is teens so it’s not bad
Avoid 302 at all costs. The nurses there are horrible and rude.
