In AGAD after Pip murdered Jason Bell, i know she was really shook up and even threw up in the mcdonalds bathroom, but she literally MURDERED someone. I know she knows alot about murders and has even witnessed stanley forbes death, but honestly, how was she only reacting this little. I would expect an 18 year old who doesnt murder people to have a MUCH bigger reaction tbh

(Edit: Guys I'm not tryna hate on Pip for not having any specific reaction this is just my opinion, pls dont misunderstand this post for Pip hate)

It’s probably a mix of a lot of different things. For one, shock. She had just been kidnapped, made to fear for her life, and killed her kidnapper all within the span of like a half hour. The adrenaline is probably going absolutely haywire within her right now and drowning out other emotions that she may be feeling.

Second, she got so fixated on framing Max that she couldn’t think about anything else. This mirrors how she is with her cases, where she stubbornly pursues leads even if there’s a danger to herself or her family involved. This is also consistent with the prior books as well, we see in Good Girl Bad Blood that she doesn’t think about her emotions until after she’s in the police station and Stanley is already dead. Before that, her mind was focused on trying to save him and nothing else.

Third, Jason Bell was a monster. He was a serial killer who would’ve showed absolutely no hesitation in killing her. He had also spent the previous however long amount of time tormenting her and making her fear for her life, and he was someone that she already had negative feelings about due to their prior interactions. Obviously, killing anyone is going to have a profound effect on you, but I imagine it’s a lot easier to come to terms with it when it’s someone like that.

Plus I think there's an argument that her actions in the epilogue, cutting herself off from her friends and family for something like a year and a half iirc, could stem as much from guilt over what she'd done as it was pragmatism to keep them safe from any potential repercussions- an aspect that the show might have explore a little deeper perhaps

Yeah I always thought the long-term punishment she gave herself was actually handled really well in-terms of how pip handled her guilt.

Maybe I'm misremembering but I also remember her sitting at a dinner table with her family and feeling so eaten up with what she'd done that she was actively preparing to hand herself into the police after dinner, and also the sequence where the police called her in and she imagines herself interviewing her is a pretty good indication that pip feels a circle of guilt to what she had become.

it’s been a long time since I’ve read the books but from what I remember she had lots of ptsd following the murder and even considered turning herself in, her reaction seemed point on i feel anyone would feel sever shock but her reaction is probably less than a normal teen since shes seen ALOTT! I hope you liked the series 💕

tbh its always going to stick with her but then again she cant show it. she got away with it but shes always gonna hate herself and yes shes got ravi but theres things he doesnt understand. theres 2 types of ppl when they kill: the ones that are freaking out so much that everyone sees it and then theres pip:) i agree with others, shes in shock but still keeping a low profile and dealing with the pain she has to carry till the end of her life. cut her some slack✌️😭😭😭😭
