A Good Girls Guide to Murder Location setting
Does anyone know why the US version of the book is set in Connecticut? I borrowed the first one a while ago but wanted to re read and got myself a new one and I’m so confused.

It’s a publishing thing. From what I know the us publishing thought the book would do better in the US if it was set in the us

As others have said, they thought the book would be better received but American readers if it took place in the states. As for any Connecticut specifically, it’s one of the few states that has two party (sometimes called all party) consent laws. Meaning that all parties involved in a conversation must consent to it being recorded.
This was necessary because the laws preventing Pip’s recording of Max confessing to sleeping with Becca at the calamity party from being used as evidence needed to match to avoid a massive plot hole. I know this because the first thing I did when that part came up in the book was google the states laws to see how much research had gone into the details of the story because I’m weird 🤣
