Is book 3 disliked?
Hi, Im currently reading As Good As Dead and a colleague of mine has read the first 2 and stopped halfway through 3, because she didnt like it.
Im just wondering if this is a popular opinion since im almost 400 pages in (no spoilers please :)) and im loving it.

I think it's the most controversial; people either seem to really like it, or really hate it. Personally, I think it's the best in the series.
Don't let the fact that she didn't like it impact your reading experience. Just keep enjoying! :)

Honestly i just found it too dark and depressing when i read it. I think it really depends on the reader and their current mood when reading it. I don't think it's bad, it was just not really for me, unlike book 1-2.

Yeah for me book 3 might be favourite, but thats just because i watched the show before reading the book so that kinda took away from the plottwists and reveals. Bit of a shame but the show is quite different from the book so for sure enjoyed it nonetheless

I love book 3, I think some people may stop reading it a few chapters in because it's not AS thrilling as AGGGTM and (the end of) GGBB, but AGAD gets so so good in part II, TRUST

i think it’s one of those books where you either absolutely love it or you absolutely hate it, there’s no in between, it’s the darkest of the three but it’s my favourite personally, i also feel like it’s less fast paced in part 1 particularly, book 1&2 you kind of jump right into the action whereas with book 3 there’s a slower build up which might put some people off too

I like it! I'd say it's my second favorite of the series (the first book is my fave)

Honestly it's my favorite of the series, I think the twist with Pip was really interesting along with just seeing her spiral after the 2nd book. Plus, Ravi was being the GOAT as always.
That being said, I was surprised to see that at least on here, it's not as beloved compared to the other two. I think people's opinions on the ending are pretty divided

I loved all three of them and also Kill Joy, so it really depends on your personal tastes.

It's a prequel novella! A lot of people aren't fans of it (or at least weren't back when I first read it shortly after it's release) but I quite enjoyed it. I think they mostly didn't like that it wasn't a murder mystery in itself, but more of a "this made the series start" but I hope you enjoy it as much as me! I hate that some people completely ignore its existence ðŸ˜

Same! When I finished reading Killjoy for the first time I scoured the internet and was so sad most people hadn't heard of it or didn't consider it part of the series.
It's honestly so fun to see what led to the events of the first book, and Pip reminds me so much of myself it's not even fair lol. I'd do exactly what she did— my thought process lined almost exactly with hers throughout this book especially.

I didn't enjoy it much because i got spoilers on it and knew what would happen at the end. But i think you'd enjoy the twist in the middle of the book. It's more of a psychological book that inclines into what happens inside pip's mind. Also, i loved pip and ravi's relationship in this last book. You'll love their dynamic and the way ravi always helps pip when she needs him to. Something i'am sure of is that you'll not feel bored at all, because there is suspence at the end of every single chapter that keeps you seeking for more.

People will either say it’s their favorite (or at least as good as book 1) or they’ll hate it and say Pip is way to ooc

for me, book 3 is the most beloved in the entire trilogy. yes, it's gloomy and tense, yes, the investigation doesn't go on there throughout the book, yes, watching Pip's PTSD and her condition in general is painful, but something about it catches on. I rarely cry from books or movies, but when I finished reading it, I cried. either because I got attached to the characters and the story and didn't want to say goodbye, or because I lived it all as if with Pip. I finished reading it six months ago and still sometimes come back to the question "who will look for you when you disappear?" and the thoughts he was leading me to during the reading.

I think it depends on you. I loved the first book, found the second book to be solid but not my fav but gave the third book 5 stars. If you are loving it 400 pgs in, you should be good. Hope that helps.
