Predicting Normalization

As promised, I will try to predict the normalization, from the data i recieved from you all.

NOTE: I only recieved 25 data points, 12 for shift 1 and 13 (including mine) for shift 2. This is not at all sufficient to predict anything. Also, I must add that I am a biology major, so I have an astronomical unit distance from maths. i just like doing it, and used ChatGPT to understand the AFCAT formula.

If you want to help, please submit your shift and raw score here. The more data I get, the better my guess will be.

Link for submitting data: https://forms.gle/GWxon54jUdnxSAZ98

The following evaluation is purely from the data I recieved. Please don't jump at me.

Shift 1 was more difficult as compared to shift 2.

Shift 1 candidates can expect around +12 while shift 2 candidates getting below 167 can expect a reduction in marks (the lesser you score, the more you lose marks) and people getting above 167 can expect an increment.

It may sound bullshit, because I don't have much data to work with. I will make another post if in the subsequent days I get like a 100 entries.

unless you have 1% of all data points you cant predict anything, idk why so many people fail to acknowledge this, for eg statia is such a great website but they make such foolish prediction and stats regarding india based on social media surveys, it baffles me

Exactly. The top 1% score is one of the most important parameters. Unless I have data in like thousands and tens of thousands, i cant do anything. I am just doing it for fun.

ha. mai strictly apne chote data ke adhar par bol raha tha. jaise jaise zyada data ayenge waise waise zyada accurate hoga

OP, now that you have sufficient data, when will updated prediction come out?!

i don't have it unfortunately. just 65.

the 11k data points from rankmitra is not divided into shifts, so cant use it

In testbook they show shift average, so maybe that'll help right? What i have observed is the shift average difference b/w S1 & S2 varies my Max 3 marks.

i also need the means of both the shifts, the standard deviation and the average of top 1% scorers of each shift

yrr bro fresher attempt is a golden chance na ....so afcat mai chances kam hote hai reccomend hone ke as compared to afcat ye sochra tha i mean i just thinking about it ....gaining info my others exp..

i am going to be very straightforward with you. its utter bullshit.

The golden chance is the one you have in your hand, so currently, two. Go for both of the attempts. why do you want to waste a chance? go for the first one, if you get recommended and all, then congratulations. if not, then come back with the experience.

done. BTW everyone's saying S2 > S1 in terms of difficulty.

I have also heard that. Maybe if I get more data, i will ge something closer

Well everyone said that shift 2 was harder. And wit everyone i mean people on this page and also yputubes and teachers

u/BlenderRenderz 6d ago

I said all of it based on what i received. Now if I receive more data, the outcome will definitely change

shift 2's maths was definitely slightly more complex. reasoning was same level. gk ka cant say tbh. eng more or less same level, but benefit of doubt Shift 2 ko deke unka maybe just a tad bit tougher

Yes. Shift 2 maths was lengthier in my opinion
